If your talking about Walker dog's,
I just don't see HOW you can leave Banjo & Banjo Jr. out???? These two dog's put the "TREE" IN TREEING WALKER. I'm not going on HEARSAY. I pleasure hunted & or compitition hunted with & against Banjo, Banjo Jr. & Finley River Chief & some of each ones OFFSPRING. Granted Chief put more tracking ABILITY in his offspring, but the other two put the TREEING ABILITY as we know it today into their offspring. I am not saying that, Chief did not help the Walker breed out, because he certainly did, as did alot of other dog's over the years, not only the MALE DOG'S BUT FEMALE DOG'S ALSO. I might also say, that all 3 had the same FAULT, but one was a little worse than the other two.
My vote for the STUD DOG whose OFFSPRING made the biggest jump toward what we see in the Walker Breed today, has to be for BANJO JR.

Ben,
Joker is still "Joker"....
Took him on a trip to Michigan a week or so ago....he treed two singles and we loaded him up and brought him home...He had not been hunted since November, he treed two in style in 8 inches of new snow with the wind blowing 20 mph....
Still doing his thing. Been breeding him a bunch and getting some really good pups and good reports on pups out of him and several different females.
He's just a dog....no big red "S" on his chest, not blue cape and leotards...but I like him and he'll get to eat feed here for the rest of his life.

The reason I hunt this bloodlines is a quote an old friend gave me,"Your either making dust or your eating it."
Jay-and if anyone dont know of Jay, thats what Frank Giddings Called Sackett Jr.
Would have love to have seen him to have live a full life and see where he would be.
Just think he was scheduled to have seamon drawed, shorthy after getting killed.

We dont believe in just pedigrees alone which can result into puppy factory's. We need to do our homework and research before we breed.
I would have to say Rock river Tuck, should have ben bred to alot more! Tuff track dog cold nosed had it all out of a outstanding litter.
Rock River Banjo

Whitey Dogs ROCK!!!
I use and recommend Kelley's K-Lights.
If I could breed to any Walker stud from the past it would be Sackett Jr.
To be honest,I have never hunted with a dog directly off Jr.,I know some love dogs out of him,and some aint too fond of them, but I feel like my chances of getting a litter full of dogs that had the potential to be better than average would be pretty good.

Yadkin River Jeff would be my pick. Old Jeff only had 333 pups and he produced some of the finest hounds I ever hunted with. Early starting, Loud mouth, track driving stay-put tree dogs best describes his offspring. Yadkin River Champ, Yadkin River Crowder, Southern Sound Jake, Yadkin Tar Rattler were just some of his more well known sons but there were many other sons and daughters off old Jeff that were tough hounds. The sire of Sackett Jr. was a double shot of old Jeff sired by Crowder and off a Champ female. Merchant’s Tree Blaster was a grandson of Jeff as was Nocturnal Nailor. Everything I own is full of the blood of old Jeff and always will be.
