none of these lights use carbide or coal oil . i dont trust em.. naa just kidding .. but you dont need to burn the leaves on a tree to see his eyes, if you couldnt look at this light why would a coon who sees in the dark without a light.. lot of younger guys that coon hunt have never seen the fine art of using a dim light to see a coons eyes,, this is real evident to me by the sales of lights that could be used to start fires or heat my house.. try them on dim first .. might add more plus points.. pete

Don't know what criteria everyone is using to pick the best but... I use a Sunburst just because it's comfortable, real easy on my back & hip. Comfortable while driving too.
My back and hip used to be so sore after a night with any of those conventional battery lights.
