I know the media distorts things but here are some facts.

1. wearing a hooded sweatshirt doesn't make you a thug or a criminal.

2. skittles and a can of sweet tea is not a weapon. Not anymore than a persons fist or foot.

3. The picture of the shooter shows no black eyes, not busted lip, no blood. No swelling on the face. Nothing like that.

Who said the hoodie makes you a thug?
Have you heard anything from the eye witness?
Was this the same type photo that showed Mr. Martin as a 13 year old, which is all anyone saw from the media?

Both were in the wrong as I see it. If the kid attacked him first though he had the right to protect himself.

The guy that did the shooting should get his right to carry taken away though. Sounds like the power goes to his head like it does a lot of cops.

why even have a right to carry if your gonna have it taken away if you use it.... hes still innocent at this point

Right now in Dayton, Oh., 2 security guards shot and killed a thug
that was trying to run them over with his car! They shot and killed him. It was reported he had been trespassing, but not exactly why. They tried to arrest him first, but that wasn`t happening. Now, the black ministers and professional marchers are wanting national publicity, and justice to be served, or they said they will shut down the city! I`m sure he was a good boy, who was turning his life around, and just got in with the wrong crowd! Excuse my sarcasm!

I went threw security gaurd school my self. A gaurd doesn't have the right to use a gun unless his life is threatened. He is supose to observe and call the cops.
BUT IF THEY WERE TRYING TO RUN HIM OVER HIS LIFE WAS THREATENED AND WAS WITH IN HIS RIGHTS.

I really have no idea what happened and neither do any of you. All we know is that something happened and a kid was killed. I was suspended from school multiple times for fighting but that didn’t make me a thug nor does how someone dresses. Yall are jumping to conclusions about the kid just like the media is about the shooter.

I do know this getting your azz kicked doesn’t give you the right to kill someone. Cops get into fights all the time do you see them shooting every drunk that take a swing at them? The guy was not trained and was carrying a gun around confronting people something was bound to go bad. I feel for both sides of this because of bad decisions by both parties someone has lost a son that they loved just as much as you do yours.

What business did the boy have in that neighborhood. It was early morning and he was wandering about in someones yard. If the boy was such an upstanding citizen then why was he not at home in the bed. The media and civil rights activist have esculated this into a racial violence issue. How is it racial violence? The so called kid was prowling and it came to a tragic ending. The guy wasn't a white mexican. He is a latino with a white name. The fine folks with the naacp didn't research anything. They heard a white sounding name and bam made a race issue out of it. That's where the racism is at. At this point no one really knows the facts of the case. They just know the media says a racist white mexican blatantly shot an innocent little black boy. What I get from this is a community is fed up with crime from thugs. They are tired of breakins and feeling threatened. George Zimmerman took matters in his own hands. It had an ugly ending. But, the child should have been home where children belong.

Who needs police and attorneys when you have these genuises?

GA DAWG's statement is what we as coonhunters need to be thinking about. These new gun laws give more and more room for a shooter to claim that it was self defense or "justifiable". By the sounds of the Trayvon deal, it sounds like Trayvon actually had justifiable rights to attack Zimmerman, or had he a gun, to actually shoot him. Trayvon was being pursued by an unknown person who was not official law enforcement. Trayvon had the right to feel threatened and respond. He did not start this. Whatever happened in the final moments is unknown at this point. But what is known is that Zimmerman was pursuing Trayvon long enough that Trayvon knew it, and was trying to get away. Zimmerman was pursuing long enough to make a phone call and be told by police not to follow Trayvon anymore. The problem here is that both could have made the argument that attacking each other was justifiable. What kind of laws do we have that make it justifiable for citizens to go kill each other cause they are scared of each other? Zimmerman put himself at risk. That we know for sure. So far there is NO evidence that Trayvon did anything other than wear a hoodie and be black.

You know what really makes me sick! Sharpton and his ilk have done the same thing before. Remember the Tawana Brawley case, or how about the Duke Lacross case. These allegations brought on by that race baitin pimp, almost ruined the lives of innocent men! What`s worse, is he was never held accountable
by the media, or the black caucus, the NAACP, Oprah, Spike, or anyone else, other than family members of the accused.

Why is everyone using the race card on this issue. Zimmerman was not a Klansman. He's a Latino. I don't think they allow Latinos in the Klan either. All the civil rights turd stirrers haven't had anything to get tuned up about lately so they jumped on this one. Say the jewlery in Trayvons bag was stolen from a white woman. If your contention is that race didn't have anything to do with what happened then we'll never solve the racial issues in this country. You seem to think just because Zimmerman isn't white then we should be okay with what happened. Personally, I don't care what Zimmerman's race is/was. That fact that he shot and killed an unarmed young black man that wasn't committing a crime is enough for me.

The fact that the cops took Zimmerman at his word and didn't even see fit to drug test him tells me volumes. Tell ya what, tonight go out shoot your unarmed neighbor and claim self-defense. When the cops get done giving you a rectal exam as part of their investigation get back with me and tell me how long it took for them to finally believe your story.

So, how does a broken nose suppose to look on a black and white video camera? Didn`t Zimmermans dad say his sons head was being slammed in the concrete....just maybe it was the back of his head! Now myself, I wouldn`t be able to tell if he had knots on the back of his head from that video.

I would be interested in the opinion of a black man on the way guys like Sharpton and Jackson sensationalize these incidents and wheather you feel they acomplish anything positive or if you would agree with me that they only serve to further divide us.

I'm not a black man , but my opinion is that these kind of guys only sensationalize things like this to keep themselves in the spotlight.

That would be like me asking your opinion as a white male how you felt about Rush Limbaugh. I'm sure sometime you agree with him and sometime you probably disagree with him, same for me. Your making a common mistake by assuming that one or two individuals speak for or to an entire race ... wrong!

As far as sensationalization, no not in this case. I along with many of my friends are simply dumbfounded at how the investigation was handled from the very start, and we are all thinking that could have been our kid! And no I don't believe for one second that if racial tables were turned, the behavior by the cops would have been the same.

BTW its not about Sharpton or Jackson, its about the fact that a unarmed young black man can be shot dead walking home from a store while the person who did it claims self-defense and gets to go sleep in his own bed after doing the shooting.

Chris, there are two sides to every story. The problem I have is with the media and the race pimps baiting everyone on the "innocent kid" with a full grill that had been in numerous drug issues. Showing a picture of a 12 year old instead of what he looks like now. Also people crying about them drug testing him, drug testing is STANDARD FOR ALL AUTOPSIES. It has nothing to do with race. It's part of the autopsy. He's not a "white hispanic", that's just a way to try and bring racism into this. He's a hispanic. They were not in a "white neighborhood" either. It was a gated neighborhood but not a "white neighborhood" as the baiters are insinuating.

I have a problem with them failing to report that the eye witnesses stated he had him down BASHING THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AGAINST THE CONCRETE. It was the older guy that was calling for help.

No the "police" did NOT tell him not to follow, not unless the 911 operators were police which they usually are not.

You don't have to be armed to comitt murder or attempt murder. If the young guy was indeed bashing his head into the concrete that is attempted murder.

If all he did was follow him then the young guy didn't have a right to assault him.

I say IF because WE DON'T KNOW.

That's the problem I have with it. WE DON'T KNOW and the race pimps are all over it claiming it was a racial killing and a murder when in reality it could have actually been self defense. For all we know the young guy could have baited him to do something so he would have an excuse to bash his head in. It could have been a cold blooded calculated murder as well. We just don't know.

We may never find out now because they have clouded the issue to the point nobody will ever know the truth.
