-- RIP Joe House (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=486024)

WHEN HE CAME ON THE PUBLIC SCENE IN 1963 HIM AND HIS HOUNDS HAVE MADE A MARK ON THE TREEING WALKER BREED THAT IS STILL STRONG TODAY IN THE YEAR 2012.

HOUSE'S QUEEN and JOE HOUSE

HOUSE'S QUEEN was the fountain head of the Strain called HOUSE. She was bred to 3 different stud dogs that produced great hounds out of each stud. In many of the great hounds of today you will find House's Queen running through their veins.

Sorry to hear about the passing of a legend in the walker breed.

I was sorry to hear about the passing of Joe House. One of my enjoyable memories was going to Joe's , eating a fish dinner and listening to Joe talking about hunting and breeding this line of dogs. Joe was the most knowledgeable man about hunting and breeding dogs that I ever had the privilege of talking to.+

Sorry for being so late on posting, was on a family vacation and then at Southeastern Walker Days, when I heard the news of the passing of this GREAT LEGEND of the Treeing Walker breed. Joe House was a pleasure to meet, hunt with, listen to about breeding and hunting these fine Treeing Walkers. Deepest Sympathy and Prayers to the House family in this time of the loss of a truly great man.

R.I.P., Joe.. Without a doubt a household name in our sport and the House bred hounds have stood the test of time as Joe advertised..

I can answer Mikes Question,, NO one will replace JOE HOUSE... I remember when I started in"64" he hadn't been in the hunts to long but i met him in Ark. at the Roasting Ear festival.. in 1965..
Joe was always fun to be around but he was serious about his hounds. He and Dottie were always so easy to visit with, and he was such a help to us..
The walker breed is what it is today because of people like Lester Nance Joe House, James Merchant, Bill Raines, Herb Carsten, and John Monroe.. There are many more but these guys were the leader of the pack.. THANKS TO THEM ALL!!!
