I have been in casts before where guys with LED heads have actually looked right at a coon and not see it. When I see it about as plain as plain could be. I have eyes like a hawk lol well you know what I mean. Show me 2 inches of coon fur and give me a gun and I will show you the coon. Looking up a tree with an LED head is like the blind leading the blind for me.

1. Price
2. Service after the sale

What else am I missing?

1, The weight of a light is pretty important
2. A good halo for walking
3. Battery life
4. Brightness/Dimness of a light (Dim for the Summer time and leafy trees as I don't like pop covers)

along with price and service are probally be the most important to me.

quality/dependability is absolutely the most important thing. i hunt alone and its not fun having a light thats 6 months old give out on you 2 miles from the truck with a sackful of coon

Well alot of the problem with the LEDs from what I have seen is the spot is to tight.Thats why I love my Blazer Pro Head.Its plenty enough bright and has a killer spread on it.Anyways this time of year you shouldnt even need a light to spot em!

come tree on some of these huge ohio oak trees and you'll quickly realize an led head is about worthless.

I tree coon in huge ohio oak trees, and never have a problem finding a coon if they are there. Only had a problem once this year, and it was because the coon was buried in the fork and I wasnt far enough from the tree to see it. Once i backed away from the tree, I saw it plain as day. I do think LED's are not very good in the fog, or rain though, other than that i think the white light is better than that old yellow tint the 5100's throw

I use the laser tourch light it's light weight no cords in the way and I haven't had any trouble seeing a coon with it my two cents is it's the best light in coon hunting bar none and less than$200

Maybe Hoosiers dog was just missing when he tried out a LED. Couldn't pay me to go back to that old yellow light. Here's one pretty high up in a big ol Ga oak tree. I can see him.

1) Reliability, no point in buying one that stays broke all the time
2) Ease of use, LED caplight is the only way to go for me
3)Service after the sale, if it breaks I want if fixed.... quick

At first I had a hard time finding coon with the LED, I was use to that yellow tint from the filament bulbs, after a whole season using an LED, I now find coon as quick if not quicker because the light is brighter. I just had to get use to the different contrast off the fur that the whiter LED gives off.

Now I don't have a cord to worry about, I don't have a battery pack to worry about, I have to worry about blowing bulbs, know my light won't go dead on me and only charge my light once a week.
