this is the kind of stuff why people are not big tebow followers. in the clip below he is directly quoting the dawson creek actor in the movie varsity blues. how corny and contrived is that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NSCbx2dIe4

and i dont buy its because he is a christian, danny wuerffel was a florida hiesman trophy winning qb and no one hated on him.

He won't be a starting QB next year.

Posted by tdug06 on 01-05-2012 05:37 PM:

Hate it but its true...

Tebow will start next year and we will have to deal with this Tebow hype, until they start the season asnd then he will get fired once they start losing... Lucky for him he is in the AFC West where you can win your division at 8-8 or worse. My perdiction: first round loss, prolly blow out by Pitt. Tebow lovers cry he has no talent around him, they have a decent draft, Tebow starts 2012 goes o-fer, get fired and Tebow lovers cry he never got a chance...BOO HOO

I think he has earned the shot at starting next year. He really has.

BUT he is not a passer and they can try to change everything about him but you can't create what's not there.

Elway will not sit and watch Tebow go 4-20, 6/23 etc.. He just won't do it and neither would any of us.

Posted by prostockpat on 01-05-2012 06:31 PM:

elway?

he blowed his 1st few seasons himself.didn't really win until his late 30's.then road off into the sunset on a good note.had 1 good run in early days.if i remember they got blew out by 49er's in super bowl or was it the bears? i know it wasn't close.

he was in the superbowl in 87, 1 of 5, and he was only drafted in 83

tebow will be 2nd or 3rd string within a year or 2. nice guy though

Posted by prostockpat on 01-05-2012 07:48 PM:

bet not

but time will tell.he's young enough and a hard worker.has the desire to win.he seen what its all about ,and where he needs to improve.
steve young was behind joe montana for years.look what kinda qb he turned out to be.

Let's look at it this way, since were on a coonhunting forum. I'm a high school QB. NONE of my teammates bad mouth me as much as the people in the community. They know a win or a loss is about team effort. The coach and team trust me to run things on the field. Same as comp. hunting the handler is the QB and the dog is the rest of the team. A great handler is useless without a decent dog and a great dog is useless without a good handler. Applying this logic about Tebow to yourselves, how many of you make a good living on your ability as a handler, not many I would guess. If you are not whose fault is it, you?, your dog? The oppurtunity is there. Tebow may not ever win a super bowl but will you ever win the world hunt? Even at second or third string he'll still be a well paid professional athelete. What string are you in the world of coon hunting? Should you give up because you don't have the talent to be a top handler? What if everyone on here took your scorecard week after week of comp. hunting? Would they say "he should quit, he doesn't have what it takes". Would you take their advice? Take a good long look in the mirror.

yeah i guess you never know. his stats have been pretty bad but maybe he will come out of it with a better team around him. he does work hard and thats admirable to say the least.

he is a professional football player, we are not professional coonhunters. so much flawed logic in this statement im not sure where to begin. no one said he should stop trying, some are saying its going to pain out, some are not. it goes on all the time in sports. kind of like talkign about wether a young started dog is going to make it. who knows for sure, but you can still give an opinion.
i cant believe how personal some take any critique of tebows qb play.

Well...

Gents,

I dont care how hard somone tries, and how much desire they have, there are only certian situations where that will pan out. NFL QUARTBACK IS NOT ONE OF THOSE SITUATIONS. I can hunt everynight of the week as many hours as I want (THATS TRYING), I can be on here for hours reading and studying blood lines picking dog traits that I think are winners (THATS DESIRE), in the end I am not going to win the world hunt this year or next year or three years from now. And no matter how much Tebow tries or desires, he is not an NFL QB... There are jobs for him in the NFL that is no doubt, but it aint QB, maybe a Jason Whitten, Jimmy Graham type tight end... Bottom line is if he wants to continue to play he is going to have to play a different position or be in a WildCat style offense where he sneaks in and does quick damage. Not saying hes not a good person or rolemodel I am just saying when your preacher says god is helping you win you got some issues.

Ok, I have taken your advice. I realize I have had some pretty decent hounds, but I suck as a handler. As bad as I want to be good, I am not. I think Tebow is going to have to come to that same realization. I really like the guy and what he stands for, but that doesn't make him a good NFL quarterback anymore than it makes me a good handler.
