I look forward to hunting with you again, I enjoyed the hunt we had back in the spring, we had some fine dog work and those Turk pups treed some coons and it didn,t take them all night to get it done, thanks for the compliment on Shelly. Gerald

hunt last night

well last night was bitter sweet I guess you could say, our 1st cut found us on a hot track, Shelly struck in second opened 6 or 7 more times went silent and a few minutes later fell treed about 200 yards deeper in by her self, she had 2 coons up a big cypress tree, sweet, drop 2 same thing 3 or4 barks on strike and this time 450 yards ac ross the bayou and slammed treed, big oak this time lots of vines and a mass of nests could not get this one to look, 3rd drop got one bark and heard no more, after 25 minutes pulled out the system only to discover yours truly for got to pull the magnet so no tracking, 40 minutes later we found Shelly about a mile down the bayou, but at least she was safe, I was worried for a while.

Thanksgiving

is almost here, love this time of year, family, friends, good food, and the hunting is great, not to cold yet cool enough you don,t sweat all night either, yea I love fall time, beautiful colors and the trees are getting naked coons are easy to find, makes correcting a dog when he misses a lot easier. Most of all it,s a time to give thanks to God for the our country and the freedoms we share, Happy Thanksgiving. Gerald.

PS. GET YOUR SELF A MAD DOG BLUE AND TREE SOME COONS.

here, Shelly will hunt tonight, I love to hunt in a mist, I have alway,s had good luck hunting in that kind of weather, she will hunt by her self tonight, hope we do well.Gerald

hunt last night

Hunted last night with my 2 son n laws and Jason Hamilton, we hunted inside the Cummins prison were Jason and my son- n- law are correction Officers, 17000 acres pecans, hardwoods, water wholes, and clean bottoms for walking, 1st cut was fast and furious 2 minutes track to tree, Shelly rolled up treed, demon backed her and the meat was swinging, game over, 2 cut 250 yrds in they struck 15 minutes demon treed, shelly sort of backed him not her normal tree style, big tree 5 feet in a pond, it was slick, coon was found in a tree 20 feet away, we gave them a little adjustment on the slick tree and sent them on the Thier way, they went on and ended up treed on a den tree. well that was it, all and all we had fun and it was good to get to hunt with both my son-n-laws, with thier work and all that dont happen often, good start for thanks giving.

bunkhouse hunt

hope everyone had a great time, sure wish I could have made it but it just did not work out this year, I am making plans to be there next year for sure, I did get Shelly out Friday night, Went with Lawrance Wilkerson, We hunted at overflow wma. lots of trees with holes in them, made 6 or 7 trees 3 on the outside we got those finished up about 12:30 and headed home tracks were tough but Lawrances female, Daisy is a 6 year old, she looked pretty good, shelly had a time with the colder tracks but did manage to push out in front on one and get it treed, we brought the meat down on her, she got treed another time by her self but big tree with a hole at 3 forks so we did not look at that one , it was a good hunt though and shelly had to work for it all the way, but it was good for her, and when she got treed with a coon she laid back and told the world she had it. Gerald
