-- Froglegs? Wicks are comparable to ??? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=455633)
i have had my valley creeks for a year now and so far they have outlasted the others, the chaps hold up very well in briars, barb wire and snakes... Not crazy about the rubber muck boots but so far no problems out of them but i figure they will be the first to go.... Best thing to do is is buy the danner slip on snake proof hunting boots and have valley creek stitch there leggings on to them. they may be a little expensive but they will last forever...
http://www.snakeboots.com/ (this site still has the snake proof danner in some sizes. but they have many others too)
any slip on water proof, snake proof boot will work fine, most people i know used danner because they are light weight and feet dont sweat as bad.

If a man has some good chaps, could he take them off of boots that have gone bad and simply put them on new boots?

Yoders??
The Yoders with the heavy chaps I bought in May are junk compared to the Wicks a still use (For special nights only). Dad is not real crazy about his Dans either. I'm not looking forward to the night I finally wear out my Wicks..........Jon

Dog gone it everyone I am having extreme anxiety over what to pick going forward!!!! Thanks to everyone that has posted their trials and tribulations
I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and try a style. I wore my wicks last night and had to try to dodge stepping in the creek. I hate that, but my pour boots are just done. After looking over the chaps last night they are so beat up after 5 years of use it would not be worth to transfer them to another boot. Oh well, life will go on. Merry Christmas everyone and safe hunting!

I still have my chaps from the wicks froglegs. I cut the boot off and have been using them that way. I've worn out several pair of boots wearing the chaps. Chaps are 20 years old and look it. So I ordered a pair of these with the waterproofing to try and bought a pair of boots with a that I can tie off at the top to try and keep the water out. Winters almost here, so the water won't matter before long anyway.

Stone Creek does have the same material but no one makes the froglegs like the Wicks. They were 3 layers. An inner waterproof layer helped them stand up on your legs. They were also made to fit your leg size and sewn in a certain way that is not as fast as some of these people want to build them.
