The other Grandson.....

Took my other grandson out with us today.
This is Estevan with his first turkey.
Had a nice tom come in this morning , but not quite close enough. All he had to do was top a small hill , but he stopped short.
So we took this jake this afternoon.
Had the other grandson with us , so being there with both boys made it even better.

I ain't gonna lie to you, this is a jake but man he came in on a string at about 7:30 AM after a tried to called to 2 other henned up birds off the roost. At 25 yards I just couldn't pass him up. I want time to help my dad get one so the sooner I end my season the better off I am.

I got 1 first friday.........haven't measured beard prob 9-10 inches only maybe 3/4 inch spurs prob 16-18 lbs. I love them spurs on that one bird posted!

Had good time chasing bird around the mtn. Does anybody else like to sneak up and shoot them? Just kick the leaves andlet him think you are a walking hen! Been doing this for a few years. I need to sit back and call some. I do call, but if he doesn't make a move within 15 minutes....I turn into a ridge runner!
