it would be nice if it was a way to combine the garmin and keep your regular gps transmiter but change the collars or something like that. that way you dont have to bye the whole system...jmo!!!

I doubt most judges are going to be interested in seeing what mode a person is using. It has E collar capabilities I wouldn't allow it on a cast. No different than someone saying they're using their garmins stopwatch for the time. Hey I'm gonna look at my garmin to put the 5 on that dog...

Tully, look back at what you quoted me................nothing about "mode".

If I am hunting with the GPS model and not the dual model, you can bet I am hunting on the cast.....Good luck scratching that.

LOL, hasn't even hit the market yet and talks about scratching.

It is one piece of equipment capable of doing 2 things, and one is an E collar. Whether you want to call it format or mode. I'm just saying too many people are out to cheat. If it is turned off the whole time during a cast that's one thing, that's what a person is SUPPOSED to do with the garmin too.

As far as the gps only, it would need to be turned off the same as a garmin.

It's one piece of equipment capable of doing 2 things IF you happen to own that model of the equipment.

It comes in 2 models. GPS Only $499 and GPS/ECollar $699.

Of course the handheld would have to be turned off like the Garmin and Beep Beep handhelds............where did you read different? No where did I imply that the handheld could be used during hunt time.............but that collar can be on like with the other tracking brand collars.

Your right, there are folks out there that want to cheat. There is also folks out there grasping at straws to scratch others too.

Looks great and I'm sure we'll have to revisit the rules for technology advancement from time to time. They are honor rules. I can't see the harm if the receiver is turned off during hunting time. It may give someone an edge to stimulate their dog in the hour they have to find their dog but my experience has been if someone is going to cheat they'll find a way to do it regardless what the rules say.

Not the most attractive thing but wouldn't fork money out since I have a Garmin and see no reason to change Wonder why this was kept hush hush but the Marshall unit gets brought up every other week

The number one reason's people carry a Garmin is to find a road to get to them, see if there on a road, {Helps prevent road kill} and see what side of the creek they are treed on. I would like to see sport dog top that.

Using a tek 1 would be like driving across country knowing which direction to go but not knowing which exits to take...

I've never had that happen, and all I hunt is cricks, and rivers... Sometimes you have to ZOOM the maps in to see clearly...

No Mapping

I don't understand why they would ask $500 for it when the Garmin is $479 with a collar and has mapping.

Marshall is coming out with something similar to this? I haven't heard of that, do you have more info?

Last I heard, if it was right. Was Marshalls system would be a combo GPS and Beep Beep. Buckshot might be able to answer this better than me. He's the company techie.
