VERY EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GET ANOTHER DOG................LOL
just kidding .............when she does have a coon give it to her or if that make the problem worse dont give her any at all...

a friend has a walker male and he does a fair job until he gets a coon but for the first few weeks of season he gets stuppid........

jackbob 42

i know what i wrote i would rather have 1 hound that is a coondog than 100 them slick treeing dogs that should have been left in the woods to rot i dont know how old you are but i am going on 61 i hunted with my granpap when i was a kid i have had hounds all my life untill last jan my health got me till i cant hunt but i know what a coon dog is and have had a lot of coon dogs in my life so you keep them slick treeing hounds walk your legs off looking at empty trees and making excuses thier treeing squrreills i will leave them laying in the woods where they belong not be smart with you but thats my way yhat i have done it so you do it your way have a good day

had a real slicker.the less you hunt them the better they
are never give them a coon and 5 grown men cant whip
them off that is what there bred to do.

All I can tell you all that have 100% accurate dogs are lying to yourself and everyone else. It don't take alot of sense to figure out they don't make them. But that is your story tell it how you want and we will just decide not to believe you. I don't know if its from lazy dog or lazy handler but every dog takes alittle training. I'm sorry if I mad anybody mad but I live in reallity and don't do my hunting from the couch.

Anybody ever hear of trainging a dog!!! I like a dog that has a couple of faults, heck if he or she was perfect it wouldnt give no reason to go the timeber besides getting em ready for a hunt or kill season. I havent shot to many dogs for something that can be trained to do. I dont care if its bread into em or not, they still can be trained. Some of you on here use it for an excuse to cull em, O it was bread into em had to shoot em, Hell of a trainer you all are!!!!!
This all you hear on here any more how it is bread into, well they stillcan be trained, ever think it may be you and what you do when you hunt the dog........

I don't think anybody said 100%.
Do you pay any attention to what you read? LOL

If they slick enough that you think it's a problem , that's slicking too much.
And , if you gotta "train" it out of them , it's too much.
But , folks keep breeding them , so we'll always have them.
That's why so few become "real" breeders and make their lines known. They only breed COONDOGS !

Do they gaurarantee this in writing?

Another one who likes to add things to what they read.............
I didn't say they were winning everything.
And , if you don't know the difference between a "real" breeder and someone who's selling puppies , how you ever gonna know what a "real" coondog is?

You're absolutley right Hound.
I don't own what I would call a coondog. But , what I've got usually looks better than whatever I hunt him with. And he'll have to do till I find something better.

And , no , I don't hit the nite hunts. Not since I had my pup stolen when I was 16.
If nobody knows what you have , you don't have to worry about it being stolen.

No problem hillbilly.
I'm old school too. I will turn 51 next month. My dad started coonhunting before I was born , so I've been doing it all my life. I know exactly what you're talking about.

Many apologies....

Name just one of these "real" breeders that never produces a dog that comes up short?

If you cant name just one, how do you really know what a coondog is?

huh? that makes about as much sense as not driving because you had a wreck
how does he look better than anything you hunt him with when you keep him away from everything so nobody knows what you have?
my hound looks better than everything I hunt him with also, course I hunt by myself most of the time.
now I have seen some shonuff slick treeing idiots that probably need to be shot. if thats the hound your talking about I would tend to agree with you.
Dogs are like people, sometimes you just have to put them on the right track. then again some just need to be locked up.

Posted by patches9452 on 01-22-2011 11:20 PM:

one of the better dogs i ever owned had a slick treeing problem when she got about 2 yrs old... i switched her off about 25 trees in a one week period and she became one of the most accurate dogs i have owned... she also produced some of the best pups i have ever owned... my opinion is you can fix it tree dogs are bred track dogs are made... if they only hunted on easy tracks they only tree easy coon put them in the ruff stuff and when they come up short send them on and after enough nights you should have a pretty nice hound.... if you want your dog to be by himself all the time he doesnt have to be that good of track dog but to go in and take a track away from another dog preperation is the key... jmo

See , there you go again.
Where did I say anything about "never"?
I didn't.
But , dogs that don't miss very often are another matter.
The old Hammer dogs of Dave Dean didn't miss very often.
I'd bet Jimmy Meeks Yadkin River dogs didn't miss very often.
I'd bet Joe House bred hounds didn't miss very often.
Shall I go on? Or do you get the idea?

NOTICE THAT I DIDN'T SAY NEVER?
