i went hunting with my cousin one night and we treed a whole crapload of coons,i think around 8-10,his dog was silent and our dog was the completely opposite,if a tight mouth dog is faster and can usually tree more coons,how's come his dog didn't get by herself some?i aint sold on tight mouth treein more coons.not after that night cause ol belle would make a lot of noise,musta been dumb coons that night they had hearin problems,lol.really though tight mouthed dogs aint my style,i like to hear a dog work a track more than i care if there a blazing tree dog,just my preference.

MR BOYETTE wasn't refering to babbling idiots that open on winks, measle's, and bark birds an such. talking about dogs that can smell a coon that fed thru more than 5 mins ago, and open on it accordly. seen a bunch of them hot nosed treeing wonders that you refered to, strike'm on the babble, tree'm on the true strike; wow what a way to win. judges let this crap go all the time when they should minus them CHEATING slick handlers. when a dog opens on a coon track that hotty can't smell thats not babbling. i've hunted with some of the so called big boys and when a dog opens on, works a tough track an trees the coon that other dogs never open on, that does'nt set to well with some. accuse dog of running off game and switching over or anything their jella$$ can come up with. fact is most have never seen a walker that can run an tree a medium track; let alone a cold track,and when they do, it gets away with them.

I don't know.

I only want to add one thing to this discussion.

Tight mouth does NOT mean silent. I don't know where people get that idea but there is a HUGE difference between the two.
