CoonCaptain, you won't get an argument outa me on Vietnam, we won every battle, yet lost the war. The hippies, etc. that you speak of are my generation ,and the sad part is now they are running this country and for that I apologize. The point I was making is this. The Vietnam war started in the late thirties against the Japanese, then the French, then the Americans and when it was all said and done the Vietnamese were the last man standing. I believe there are enough good men in this country who are willing to die on their feet, rather than live on their knees.
It kills me to think anyone still think they are covered by the constitution.
Prior to 1913, most Americans owned clear, allodial title to property, free and clear of any liens of mortgages until the Federal Reserve Act (1913) “Hypothecated” all property within the Federal United States to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, in which the Trustees (stockholders) held legal title. The U.S. Citizen (tenant, franchisee) was registered as a “beneficiary” of the trust via his/her birth certificate. In 1933, the Federal United States hypothecated all of the present and future properties, assets, and labor of their “subjects,” the 14th Amendment U.S. Citizen to the Federal Reserve System. In return, the Federal Reserve System agreed to extend the federal United States Corporation all of the credit “money substitute” it needed.
Like any debtor, the Federal United States government had to assign collateral and security to their creditors as a condition of the loan. Since the Federal United States didn’t have any assets, they assigned the private property of their “economic slaves,” the U.S. Citizens, as collateral against the federal debt. They also pledged the unincorporated federal territories, national parks, forests, birth certificates, and nonprofit organizations as collateral against the federal debt. All has already been transferred as payment to the international bankers.
Unwittingly, America has returned to its pre-American Revolution feudal roots whereby all land is held by a sovereign and the common people had no rights to hold allodial title to property. Once again, We the People are the tenants and sharecroppers renting our own property from a Sovereign in the guise of the Federal Reserve Bank. We the People have exchanged one master for another.”
In 1944, Washington D.C. was deeded to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the Breton Woods Agreement. The IMF is made up of wealthy people that own most of the banking industries of the world. It is an organized group of bankers that have taken control of most governments of the world so the bankers run the world. Congress, the IRS, and the President work for the IMF. The IRS is not a U.S. government agency. It is an agency of the IMF. (Diversified Metal Products v. IRS et al. CV-93-405E-EJE U.S.D.C.D.I., Public Law 94-564, Senate Report 94-1148 pg. 5967, Reorganization Plan No. 26, Public Law 102-391.)

bandithunter makes an excellent point regarding Vietnam. It is virtually impossible to subdue an enemy in their own backyard. The Vietnamese beat back a larger and more well funded army that had superior firepower and logistical support. Afghanistan beat back the Russians, and is now beating back U.S. troops. It has been said before, I will say it again, Afghanistan is where Empires go to die.
Spending over $one trillion dollars per year on military expenditures is a luxury afforded by only a very wealthy nation. We are no longer a wealthy nation. We are a nation with wealthy individuals, but it seems no one wants to make a sacrifice and pay any more in taxes to fund our nations budget. As long as we remain a nation with wealthy individuals, rather than a wealthy nation, every dollar that we spend on military expense is a dollar not spent on the critical needs of our citizens.
I believe that our citizenry would be capable of defending itself if we were ever invaded by a foreign power. As citizens, what we can not defend ourselves against is the reckless spending by our government. In my opinion, we are more at risk of economic collapse than we are of military invasion.
In this next session of congress we are going to hear "cut, cut, cut". But they will never suggest cutting military expense. They trust that you are stupid enough to not be able to understand simple math, and that you will keep yourselves preoccupied arguing about women's reproductive issues and gun ownership issues rather than note that the wealthy are committing acts of class warfare against you and I, and are robbing you and I right underneath our own noses.
SO keep on fighting for tax cuts for the wealthy, cutting funding of education, transportation, infrastructure, food safety, social safety nets, and just see where that gets YOU in the end. It is gonna work out great for them.

Traxx, you must be honest and recognize that Bush doubled our national debt, and that Obama has actually modestly trimmed our annual deficits from where Bush left them.
Obama has plenty of faults, but he has already shown himself to be slightly better than Bush at managing budgetary issues.
I disagree with your view about "throwing money at education". We will not be able to compete in a global economy without well educated citizens. ANd education does not come for free. Not that there aren't areas where our public school system could cut back. All sports could be cut at the high school level, our state colleges could cut out their sports programs, lots of room to make cuts. Unfortunately the only thing that gets brought up is teacher pay scale.

So who's fault was it that the country was so messed up when the Rep.s were in controll for so long? That is when we got into this mess. Not that I say the rep.s for all at fault. The dem's when along with some of the worst things passed.
As far as the Vietnam thing. It wasn't a war. We haven't been in a war since world war II. A police action isn't something you win. You go into a country and try to keep the peace. You don't win or loose any more than our police do here. They keep the peace as best they can and protect the people as best they can but there is no win or loss. There is only to stay and try to keep the peace till the other government can hold there own peace.
That is why I don't think we should send our military any were unless there is a declaration of war made against who we are fighting. Then we fight by a whole new set of rules and AMERICA WILL WIN AND OUR SOLDIERS CAN PROTECT THEMSELVES TO THE BEST OF THERE ABILITY.
By the way these wars were fought and soldiers died for the right to be the one to CHOOSE what happens to there own bodies too.

The worst congress in US history now has something to brag about :
"111th Congress(DEMOCRAT CONTROLLED) Added More Debt Than First 100 Congresses Combined: $10,429 Per Person in U.S."
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article...debt-first-100#
And we know who WON'T be paying it back. In order to pay your "fair share", you'd have to pay taxes. That counts out many, if not most, democrat supporters.
The pic below is a perfect example of what the Democrats are doing to this country. Those pulling the load are being overwhelmed.

SUre we pay nearly 3/4ths of taxes, but it is because we make nearly 3/4ths of all of the income.
After you posted this a few days ago, I did a little checking on statistics from official IRS and government info. If you are part of a household that has an AGI [adjusted gross income] of over $130,000 annually, then you are a top 10%. Average top 10%ers pay right around 18.7% tax rate.
So that means my household [with an AGI of around $150,000] will pay close to 27,000 in taxes this year. Leaving us to have to live off of a measly tiny little bit of money- around 123,000$ per year.
YIKES! How will I be able to live off of only $123,000$ this year!! Oh my gosh how I will suffer! There is no way that I could afford to pay another 2-4% more in income tax! If I paid 2-4% more in taxes this year I would have only 119,000$ or so to live off of.
Traxx,
I hope you can recognize sarcasm when you see it. I CAN AFFORD TO LIVE OFF OF $123,000 PER YEAR, OR $119,000 PER YEAR, OR GOD FORBID I COULD EVEN LIVE OFF OF $100,000 PER YEAR. Most any top ten%er could afford to pay more in taxes. Most of us would be happy to. We understand that we aren't that different than our friends who make 20-40,000 per year. We have just been a little more fortunate to land the right career, not have health challenges that keep us from work, and have a little better work ethics than some others. Heck, some top ten %ers don't even have that great of work ethics!
If we can't afford to pitch in and pay a little more, then who can?
My guess is you aren't a top ten%er. If you were you would know just how easy it is to make $120,000+ put food on the table. And if I am wrong, and you are a top ten%er, and you are struggling to put food on your table despite having over $10,000 per month in your family budget, then you maybe should start listening to Dave Ramsey or some other financial advice person and get your money in order. Cause look all around you- there are lots of folks getting by on very little.
I love my country, and am willing to help pay for it.
The Tea Partiers kept saying that they wanted to "take their country back". You can't take greatness. You have to earn it. Greatness is not cheap and it isn't easy. If we are ever gonna have it again, we are going to have to work hard and work together to get it. I am telling you that I am here and ready to do my part.
