What I really love is half of you have no business expressing an opinion since you really have no idea what you're talking about. All you know is what the last person told you. If you're sitting there asking your self is he talking about me? Ya I probably am.

I'll bet a lot of you brain surgeons didn't know, Boise State would love to play a harder schedule. But they can't get any big name teams to play them because there afraid of the outcome.

Boise is scheduling a tougher season for the next few years. I was hoping the Big East would invite them along with TCU. TCU to the Big East in 2012.

I think the SEC will at least go 500 in bowl games this year, but if they get two in the BCS it will be alot harder. They already have the SEC to play up as it is, but with 2 in the BCS they play up farther than they normally do.

You can't go on bowl games any more, even though the SEC still does extremely well.

The reason is they don't pick close teams any more. You may have one conference champion going against an 8th place team. That's not a good comparison.

They need to be within a place or so of each other to compare. If the SEC 2nd place team beats up on the Big East 4th place team it really doesn't prove anything because the 2nd place team should beat a 4th place team, but lots of times it's even worse than that, say a 2nd place team playing a 6th place team.

The bowls were a good comparison of conference strenghth before the end of the 90's, back when they had to take Conference X 2nd place vs Conference Y 2nd place, but now those rules are out the window and the games are picked based on who they think will draw the most. That may be Conference X 2nd place team against conference Y 6th place team. That shows nothing.

Send them up north to the Big 10 in November and see how they play.

Are you serious? How many National Championships does the Big 10 have since the BCS started? Can you say 0? The undefeated Big 10 teams get beat by one loss SEC teams in National Championship games. OSU v.s. Florida, OSU v.s. LSU. Give me a break.

Yea, I`ll give you break for not having a clue! Ohio State won the NC game in 2002. Lost bad to Florida in 06 and lost a tough game in a rebuilding year to LSU, in what was basically a home game for LSU. Even you SEC guys have to realize, it`s tough to win on the road!

Man I thought we ran the gamut on college football on another post! But it`s all fun as long as we don`t take it too serious. Just some difference of opinion from all parts of the country, and a little debate is good. I hope your team wins it`s bowl game whoever they play, and I`ll keep rooting for my Buckeyes!

Yeah, I forgot about that one. But The Ohio State University is the only Big 10 team that ever represents. Is the conference tough or is Ohio State just tough. I wasn't trying to bash your Buckeyes, but if the Big 10 is so tough why aren't any other teams from the Big 10 ever playing for a championship. There certainly are more than one team from the SEC playing for championships.

I just think the way the BCS is set-up, it`s really tough to make it to the
NC game. You get 1 loss and it seems you are fighting for your life to get in. Wisconsin, to me, is the best team in the Big 10 this year. They seem more like an NFL team(the way they run their Offense & Defense) than any team in the country! But as sure as I say that, they`ll go get hammered in the Rose Bowl! SEC, is the best conference year in and year out.

The SEC has everything handed to them. They are always HOME in OOC games. Until they start playing QUALITY OOC games they have no respect from me.

hey them buckeyes have a nice ball team for sure i'll give you that.... that one slip up this year cost em... you may disagree with me on this but i think its about time for a new ball coach up there, would be hard to get rid of him because he sure knows how to win but seems like he has got a monkey on his back that's holding him away from a national title every year.... with ya'lls talent and recruiting capabilities ya'll should be the team to beat year end and year out..... i believe ya'll have the largest student body out of all colleges i could be wrong but i thought i heard that on talk radio sometime.... tell me what you think about new coach?

I don`t know what team plays in the snow, but try playing when it`s a
10 below wind chill factor. The turf is usually frozen, and handling the ball
is tough! Have you ever watched any of the 1AA or Div. III playoff games?
If a Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, or any northern school is a high seed,
they play home games.....outside! I still can`t figure out why we have the
BCS, and not a playoff system!

Tressell is a good coach, and a great recruiter. He keeps most of the in-state stars. He is, in my opinion, way too conservative with the offense.
It drives me crazy when he never takes chances(4th & 1). But I look at who he took over for, John Cooper, quite possibly the worst coach in Div. 1
football. He single handedly almost ruined OSU football. He couldn`t beat Michigan, and seemed to never win a bowl game. One thing I can say for Ohio State, is we never go through those terrible seasons, like most big name teams do. 3 losses for OSU is a failure. Over 60,000 students, and really a tough school to get in, academically!

Posted by dbpro56 on 12-02-2010 04:10 PM:

Oh, and about a new coach, I`m ok with Coach Tressel. After seeing Kiffen, Dick Rod, Brian Kelley, Charley Weiss, just to name a few, I will take Coach Tressel. I would like to see some younger blood as the offensive coordinator, though!

.......and you might have 2 Big 10 teams, or Pac 10, or ACC, or Big Ea,
well forget that last conference!!!

Posted by Slough on 12-03-2010 04:31 PM:

One problem I see with the BCS is right now you have several teams with a 9-2 or even 8-3 record that could play with anybody in the nation. They are made up of young players and dropped a few losses early in the year but have matured quickly. I personally would love to see a play-off.
