[MamaKiti2 - thanks, that sounds yummy and easy. I'll give it a try. sorry your hubby has been out of work for so long too, it's nearly impossible around here to even get a part-time job at MickeyD's. [/B]

Deer Burger
There were a couple of recipes sounding similar to ones we use.
-Worchestshire sauce adds good flavor.
-There was a meatloaf recipe that sounds like my wife makes.
-Chili is something that ground deer meat works well in.
-Sloppy Joes are my favorite use for ground deer (don't know if that helps on a low fat diet because you'll end up eating more of this).
-Tacos/Burritos/Wraps.
-Hamburger Helper.
-Cube some of the deer steaks and can it with a couple of beef bullion cubes. Excellent by itself, and makes good stroganoff.
-By using a slow cooker, we've been able to make it taste like pulled pork. Took that to a school picnic at my wifes school, and they sucked it up thinking it was pulled pork. If they knew it was deer they'd have never eaten it. After hearing about how good it was, she did tell a couple of them it was deer.
jerky shooter, we eat the heck out of burger when I make it into jerky. I buy the seasoning/cure kits. $7.00 makes about 10 lbs. of burger into jerky ( I think, I'm not looking at the label). Cheap jerky and a batch doesn't last two days around here (4 kids at home).

Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Patty it out into burgers, place in skillet, cover with water when the water is almost cooked off of the burgers they are done. This is the only way I have found to be able to keep it from drying out when cooked. Oh yeah a lot of ketchup helps to.
I use to hate deer burger and deer sausage. Last year we had bacon ground in with the deer and that made all the difference.

Deerburger Helper ,,get it at your local grocer by its alias Hamburger Helper. We find it on sale 5 boxs for 5 dollars around here. My whole family likes it,,including the burger our main course cost a little less than 3 bucks and feeds 4.

JERKY, TRY ADDING A LITTLE LEMON PEPPER TO YOUR MIX, GIVES IT A LITTLE BITE. I ALSO USE BLACK PEPPER AND SOY SAUCE. CAN NOT KEEP IT AROUND, KIDS LOVE IT.
