my dogs handles the heat pretty well, my dogs dont tree as hard as they do in cooler weather but they still tree, i am more worried about rattle snakes and gators than the heat, they hunt year round and they are acclimated to the weather no matter if its winter or in the dead of summer.

Went last night and my male dog treed a coon on a creek in 10 minutes.

Seen the storm coming but I figured my female would tree one quick and I would head for the house. Turned her loose in the high heat and humidity with the storm coming fast!

Garmin said she was at 250 yards and finally bam hot track struck clear on the right side of the corn field, she took it a ways and then all the sudden just stopped! No idea what she did but I made up my mind I was going in there to get her. I got close to her but she was up on the steep creek bank and I was at the bottom, I finally got to the top and she took off away from me, not a wise choice!

The rain came and I ran her down but in the meantime I fell in a hole full of little tile and it cut my arm pretty good. After I caught up to her it wasn't very pretty! She will most likely think twice before running from me!

OMG. WE WENT LAST NIGHT, AND I ACTUALLY GOT A WILD HAIR AND WENT EITH THEM! LOL. WE HAD HERCULES AND RED. TREED PROBABLY 30 FOOT OFF THE ROAD DOWN A LITLE BANK.

AS SOON AS YOU GOT UNDER THE TREES, IT WAS LIKE A SAUNA IN THE WOODS! OMG! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE TEMP DIFFERENCE IN 30 FEET FROM ROAD TO WOODLINE!

THAT WAS INSANE! EVEN THOUGH WE WERE THAT CLOSE TO WHERE WE PARKED THE TRUCK, THE SWEAT WAS JUST DRIPPING OFF OF ME JUST STANDING THERE TAKING PICS.

I TOLD THEM I DIDNT KNOW IF I'D BE SPENDING MUCH TIME INSIDE THE WOODLINE TILL IT COOLS DOWN A BIT!

POOR DOGS! THEY RUN IN THAT SAUNA! I TOLD Q IT WAS TOO HOT TO HUNT WHEN I SWEAT STANDING THERE. LOL. CAUSE I USUALLY FREEZE. LOL.

The last couple of weeks its been over 100 degrees during the day, and 80 at night.
Its dry as a bone, the water holes are drying up, and the creek beds are dried out to just puddles.
My hounds are older, and I just dont want to risk over heating them.
So for now I am taking a break.
It wont be long though, and it should cool off at night.
I hope.
