Btt.My feet are killing me from work.Guess im gonna have to break down and buy some boots.Anybody like Irish Setters?
Don't buy any timberland pros. Worst boot I've ever wasted money on. Lasted me only 6 months. Bottoms wore slap off. Best I've had lately since this thread started 3 yrs ago was redwings. They did last a yr at least.

been wearing redwings about 30 years. I like the 402 & the pecos slip on. both are hard to break in. if u wet them real good & wear till dry, they will b broke in. keep them oiled or greased bout every month r 2. mine last 3-4 years. I like the super sole, they stick on a roof real good. I also make my own leather dressing with beeswax & what ever is handy,( rendered bear fat, coon fat, neatsfoot oil, vasoline). it keeps them waterproof & soft. wolverine duroshocks r comfortable but the soles crack bad & leak like crazy.
boots
chippewa super loggers big money but worth every penny.
I've only owned one pair of redwings.914s I think.Cost like 250 and lasted less than a year.I was doing road work at the time and they were not made for that I guess cause they were not comfortable at all.Im just lookin for a comfortable and durable boot. Thanks for the inputs
Foggy Mountain bear grease and beeswax. Google it I have used it for30 yrs during the winter once a month the rest of the year once a season. Great stuff.

Red Wings, But.
Red Wings that cost $185.00- $200.00 But they aren't comfortable unless you spend another 50 bucks and get the right insoles. Our Redwing store has the machine that checks your feet and tells you what you need. I need lots of arch support. The Red Wings last around 4 years if all you wear them for is work. The insoles keep your whole body in alignment. Insoles (heavy duty) last about a year.
I've been on concrete all day in a factory for 21 years and even with what I mention above my feet still get to hurting after about 3 hours. 15 minutes off my feet and I'm good for another 3 hours. Any chance you get, set down for a couple minutes even if your feet don't hurt. Also any chance you have, get your feet up, elevate them. When I get home from work, I try to spend 30 minutes in the recliner, that way I feel like doing something (like going hunting later).
Before the insoles I had lots of back pain and sore feet, back pain wouldn't go away. Sore feet goes away now with some time off of them. Also a Chiropractor fixes my back a couple times a year when needed. I've learned it is best to go get your back fixed right away, or else it is harder to fix and costs more money with more visits.
I don't waste money on cheap work boots anymore.

I think wolverines are very comfortable, but haven't had luck with the glued soles staying together. Danners have a couple different grades. Look for ones with stitched soles. They will cost more, but last twice as long. I'm a believer in Redwings. They seem to be what hold up the best for me. I'm HE!! on boots, and they usually last me a couple years.

Make sure you buy them big enough.......
It doesn't matter what boot you buy , if they're too small your feet are going to hurt.
The longer you are on your feet , the more they swell up. When they swell up , they get sore.
I discovered this a few years back.
I bought a new pair of shoes and my feet were still killing me by the end of the day. Had something go wrong with them and took them back to exchange them.
They didn't have the same size , so I got 1/2 size bigger. That was the end of my foot pain. Been buying the bigger size ever since , and no more foot pain.

georgia boots
i worked in the coal ind bought a pair of them the was the pull on boot they were comfortable and insulated kept my feet warm in the winter and also waterproff they were on the pricy side but was a good boot
Georgia Boots is the way to go. Wear them everyday, seven days a week and get about 2 years out of a pair. Red Wings are great boots, but the price is to high. Never had any Danners for the same reason. Wolverines just do not hold up under my feet and boy they can rub some blisters. I'll stay with the Georgia Boot. I like'm and they like my feet.

work boots
I work at a shingle manufacturing plant and I have been on the concrete for 24 years and even had a bone spur removed from my heel. I can tell you from experience that the Justin J-Maxx is the best and most comfortable boot from the first time you put them on until you wear them out. The last pair I got I ordered from the onlinebootstore.com.
