We can't really provide contact information, as that would be as bad as putting someone on a telemarketers list, but if you guys make your own contacts, that's purely up to you.
A 30 second commercial spot, airing twice per week is just over $1000 per month. Pretty comparable to an inside cover ad in many magazines. A Premium Kennel Sponsorship with a ad in each episode plus a televised hunt airing 4 times per six month season, is just $2500 total. Again, pretty comparable to a full page color ad in a magazine.
Only... we're talking the potential for over 35 million household!
EnglishPride - Like Joe, I'm not sure who your buddy talked to, or if there was a misunderstanding. We'd be happy to film most anywhere, any time of year. BUT... trying to film in a fog of mosquitoes in the middle of Summer, wouldn't make for a good experience for anyone. But we can film earlier or later or in the daytime, if it's not a coon hunt.
Well... although we've threatened this in the past, it looks like we're now finally out of steam.
We've had great support from our sponsors over the past couple seasons, but with sky-rocketing costs and dwindling sponsorship, we are now having to close the doors.
Granted we get folks calling us every day, wanting to showcase their stud dog, kennel, association or event on TV. But that is called advertising and it, nor this show, are free. Just paying the network to air an episode, is now going to cost us over $3000 per week, and that doesn't cover filming, editing, and production costs. Nor does it feed Joe, Shane and I.
It also doesn't cover all the costs of travelling to do all the different shows around the country that everyone is requesting we do. Nor make all the improvements, everyone would like to see. Bottom line... no matter how much we want to, we just can't afford to go on.
Thanks for the memories!
Dave
Yall did great while it lasted..Thanks..

Joe, I have an elderly friend that is no longer able to coonhunt, and would like to get him a coonhunting DVD, do you guys have seasons I & II on DVD if so I'l like to buy him copies. Might be a way to raise a little $ towards season III expenses.

OK. HERE'S AN IDEA.
WHAT IF STUD DOG OWNERS SENT THEIR OWN VIDEOS AND PICTURES AND INFORMATION OF THEIR STUDS AND OFFSPRING IN, AND FOR A DECENT PRICE YA'LL PUT IT TOGETHER AND AIR IT ON THE SHOW LIKE A VIDEO AD?
IT WOULD ALMOST BE PURE PROFIT FOR THE SHOW.
THERE WOULD BE NO COST FOR TRAVEL. NO GAS, NO HOTELS, ETC.
THE ONLY THING IT WOULD COST WOULD BE TIME AND ENERGY PUTTING THE SHOW TOGETHER.
IT WOULD BE PUTTING MONEY IN YA'LLS POCKETS AS WELL AS SHOWCASING THE STUD DOGS TO.

EVERYTHING happens for a reason.
Christy - we have to pay the network over $3000 for every week we air, and we must buy a minimum of 26 weeks. The travel and production costs are a drop in the bucket compared to our air time fees.
have a couple of nite hunts with what ever kc rules you wanna follow, and have all the profits go to F&T and have memberships. Bet there would be alot of guys that would wanna hunt with you guys.
Folks... we're talking about raising a $100,000 budget just to afford to stay on the air. And that's if Joe, Shane and I continue to donate all our time, use of our trucks, etc. If we couldn't raise that from corporate sponsors, I don't think we're going to get 5000 hunters to pay a $25 entry fee.
And we already tried selling hats and club memberships, as well as kennel sponsorships for folks to hunt with us. Very, very few bought them.
Trust me, if we still had hope, we would keep chipping away at it. But in this economy, and with our small market, it's just not happening. We loved doing it, and we loved doing it for our sport. We invested money out of our own pockets, took the criticism, and spent countless hours away from our home and families. We wouldn't have done that, if we didn't think it was worth while.

We already talked to Pride and many others, they weren't interested.
And if you're producing a quality DVD with the variety everyone expects, there's no real profits to be had. You would still have to sell thousands to break even.
This stinks. Great job while it was on.
Now there will be another show with a guy hunting deer in a 8' fence and paying $2500.00 to do it. What a sport.

Its real disappointing after seeing how the show has grown and improved in Season 2.
I can't imagine how great the show could be if they had a budget that would allow them to be putting more creative effort into the show and allow the crew to at least get paid SOMETHING vs putting all the energy into trying to get sponsorship money and funding nearly all the expenses and production costs out of they're own pockets.
I enjoyed the show very much. I guess I can look on the bright side, I can reduce my DirecTV package because I added a tier just because of Tailgate Adventures.
Thanks for the kind words and understanding. This has been a very difficult decision, but one we had no choice in, really.
But we're not dieing, and if someday the circumstances change, who knows... we just don't see that in the near future.
ending
speaking for the guys in SE Okla. we gonna miss the show and we fully understand the money part. Times are real tough and as right now no hope or relief in sight. Phil
Sorry to hear this. I will still look forward to buying the DVDs. As soon as I can hide a little money from my kids.

The coon hunting world owes you guys a debt of gratitude for putting our life style in front of so many who never had the opportunity to see what we are about.
Thank you gentlemen!

I just started watching it a couple of months back. I love it. Have you ever thought about some auto dealers in the north, MI, OH, IN, IL. Just a thought. Then try some in the south. Some of those dealers have shops in different states. Penske is one. Hank Graff is in MI and OH. Just a thought.
wow this stinks dave yall did a great job i really enjoyed the show. wish i were a millionare i'd finance the show out of pocket

just an idea here. i assume yall still have all the equipment used for filming. have yall thought about just making dvds to sell. you could still get kennel and buisness sponsoships to cover your travel expenses and the making of the dvds. i enjoyed watching the show and hate that it's ending. yall did a great job on it.
