i agree with Wade. The last minute ones are normally standing around waiting to see how many they are hunting against, or who. There is one guy that comes to mind down here, always calling he is lost, or on the way etc...and you guessed it, in the other KC, the hunt is always held up, waiting on him. Guess what? He found out that didn't work to well in UKC, and was sent home, not once but twice. Amazing, he can now get there on time to a UKC hunt.

Grady, house rules were very similar for me growing up. And, it worked quite well. Probably better than the 1, 2, 2 1/2, 2 3/4, 3.

I will take this one step further. It goes by the official clock, and not someone else's watch or cell phone.

Nope, Mark, I had friendly discussion with a participant who informed me that I couldn't take a fellow's entry due to it was already 8:00 by his cell phone.

Larry's right in that the "official" clock is official. Of course it's a good idea to have that official clock hanging in view for everyone to see and as close to cell phone time as possible.
Allen,
Contray to what most believe not everyone has a cell phone they use 24/7. Frankly, if I am in the woods for any reason, I don't want anyone to get a hold of me.
