I would agree that you might loose a very little but I think while you take some of the frenzy out and control in you allso ad more thinking ability of the dog. I will take the thinking over the frenzy any time as long as the dog has enough instinct and drive to stay at the tree and do it's job till it is told to do something else.

I think some of yall have the lead snapped to the wrong end! I believe some of your dogs are smarter than you are! I dont need or want anybody else to handle my dogs for me. Some of yall are missing out on one of the best bonds/friends/hunting partners you could ever imagine! If you have never been so connected with your dog (hunting partner) that you knew what she was thinking then you have truly missed out.

I have had several Dual Grand's in the house & several that ain't. For those that think it mess' a dog up feel free to come for a hunt. I currently have three mainstay's in the house. You can take them out when it's zero & butt deep in snow when everyone is settin on here & their doin their thing. I have alway's felt that a good share of'um I've had do their thing to please us more so than chewin on a coon. Very seldom does huntin require a bath afterwards but it does happen once in a while. Guess it depends on the terrain you hunt. A swamp runnin every night wouldn't be good that's for sure!!

To many use them as a tool & if they had their way they'd be just as happy to put them in the top of the box with the trackin stuff.

I'm not that-a-way,never have been or will be. A personal preference thing but I enjoy my hounds as much in the day time or in the house as I do in the timber. We have deffinate relationship's & a dog that don't have the personality or the mental capabilties to will not stay with me.

There is eleven head here. I can turn the whole yard loose at once & they listen to me,all of'um. No goat ropin's or shacklin needed.

Like was said,if you don't have a relationship with your hound's you are really missin out.

Never ask a man what kind of dog he has. If he has a hound he'll tell you, if he does not, you don't want to shame him by asking.

You English men ever notice how the blue ones are slow and the Red ones are not? It's all in the color! What's inside don't matter! Sure I'm serious!

I really don't like being around dogs that much. I mean they are fine and I like them but I don't want them near me most of the time and in the house I just can't take. I will pet them a little when I clean up after them, but they all have feeders and kennels and heated buckets and I go out a couple days a week and clean up after them,,,,,or to hunt.

My blue dog will not hunt for nobody but me, if I can't make a hunt and my father-n-law hunts him or my buddy hunts him, he will not hunt for them like he does me. If I send him to my buddy's for a week, he gets depressed and will not hunt at all. What do you do?

I think that is a blue dog trate. The best dog that I ever owned in my life was a 35 pound smokey river blue bitch. She could do it all drive track tree with style and have the meat every time. Lay up queen. Her major hole was she would not hunt with company. I trained her as a pup 100% alone. I could have killed every coon in sc with her alone but I could take her to nite hunt and she would flat out look stupid every time. Most nites she would just go get right back in my dog box. Every now and then she would ramble a little but never hunt. She would pleasure hunt with a dog after she got to know it a few trips. If that little female would have hunted in nite hunts she would of been well known everywhere. She dead and gone for years and I still miss her and think about her every nite I go to the woods.

I've got a male dog that I most definitely believe wouldn't hunt for anyone but me. I raised him in the house from five weeks old, and he's only spent one day since away from me. That dog is my best buddy. He rides in the front of my truck and sleeps in the bed with me when we're out of town during the week for work...my other half does make him sleep his crate when I'm home on the weekend, but he knows that's only until I invest in a king-sized bed On the flip side, NO stranger can take him out of his crate, the kennel, or dog box. And most folks that know me will tell you it's not in your best interest to put your hands in my truck when Waylon is with me. He's very protective, and I feel certain that if someone were to try to harm me he could be vicious. Doesn't bother me-I don't WANT just anyone to be able to get their hands on him, me, or my property. Meet him on the leash, in the woods, on the bench, or even in the house and he's a total sweetheart when I'm with him. He just loves to make me happy, and it's made him very easy to train.

As for the bluetick comment...I'm going to make sure to tell my fiance' that. The ONLY time I ever let him take one of my dogs (and it happened to be my blue dog) hunting without me she treed a possum. Had her two years and never seen the dog tree a slick tail, she goes without mama and she finds the first one in the woods! Hahaha...

Well on Tiny Pic I don't know. On Photobucket there is an edit feature so you can resize them. So all I can do is give it to you like this and you can save it and put it on your picture host and edit your post and put it up if you like.. BTW.. the WOW was for the girl! That is an old pic too btw!
