well whem you linebred tight after awhile anything in the closet will show up sooner or later,,lol

he was a switchover from walker if you know your history

and not many english dogs that dont have a little or a lot of speck in their background,,and

on the flip side back many moons ago,also, they was some ticked up walkers that had some hammer III or IV blood in them and the ones that were hunted in the hunts were titled out with whatever papers they looked like,,
but those breeders bred for coondogs 1st back then not for titles like they do now.. .

so when you linebred tight like some of us do ,you have to expect anything to show up,,lol

You are correct he has some Speck in his 6 gen ped. The cross that produced Banjo put the old blood back in his 3rd gen. So it could be some Speck showin back up! Im not a breed basher myself and enjoy the history of some of these bloodlines and wonder why people get in heated arguements about what is supposed to be where as far as bloodlines go. Remember in simpler times it was coondog to coondog didnt matter if it was a chihuahua! LOL What are some other Hounds that werent 'pr' blood? Banjo has one way back that is "JOHN" thats all the ped says?
