OK. DOGS HAVE TO PASS UNDER 3 DIFFERENT INSPECTORS I GET.

BUT AFTER THEY HTX CAN THEY PASS UNDER THE SAME JUDGE TWICE THEN?

Titles:

12. Upon the completion of three (3) successful hunt test passes by the three different inspectors, a dog will be issued the title of HTX as a suffix to the dog’s UKC registered name. The owner of record will be sent a degree and new Easy Entry card verifying the achievement.

13. Multiple titles may be earned for each additional three (3) successful hunt test passes. Multiple titles will be indicated by a numerical addition to the HTX title such as HTX2, HTX3, etc. The owner of record will be sent a degree and new Easy Entry card for each additional title.

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER CLUBS, BUT IN OUR CLUB THERE ARE JUST A HANDFULL ATTENDING THESE TO HUNT AND INSPECT.

IF THIS RULE DOESNT CHANGE I DONT FORSEE ANY DOGS AT OUR CLUB ADVANCING PAST HTX2 BECAUSE THERE JUST ISNT ENOUGH PEOPLE TO GO AROUND.

I would think that to get titles 2 and 3 and so on , you would have to follow the same rules for title #1.

your just lucky your club does it. no one around here does or even cares i dont think. would have to travel over hundred miles to even get close to one.

Good luck with the test. I agree that it would be good for any titled dog to do this test.
I think haveing to pass 3 times with 3 judges is good but we need more judges. I wonder how hard it is to pass a judge test and how hard it is going to be to get more. Be great for some that arent able to hunt anymore.

For all of you who are lamenting the fact that there are no HTX tests scheduled in your area, are YOU a member of a club? If not, you are the reason there are none in your area. If you ARE a member, quit complaining and get some scheduled. One person can run these events! Yeah, that's right, ONE PERSON is all it takes. This isn't something a club needs to ponder at length, there is no cost to hold the test. You can't lose money. If I hold the test and one person shows up, I'm his/her judge. If everyone that brings a dog brings one other person with them, you got a judge for everyone that shows up. ANYONE that can read and write and has coonhunted can judge. There is almost no effort involved in holding one of these tests. I can only conclude that if your club isn't holding them, it's has to be because there is no interest.
If just one person at our club wanted to hold a hunt test, it would be scheduled tomarrow.

Absolutely....Now, if we could just force those no count titled dogs to pass the HTX the world would be in order.

Jim, thank you very much. I had no idea. I have ask the ones over our club and I am a member. I know there are more that would want to do it. This knowledge getting out I think is all it will take.
As far as forceing the titled dogs to get one or forceing anyone to do anything I think they will do it on there own. The ones that can and the ones that can't won't.
Thanks Jim you just made my weak. A lot of us that can't keep up in the hunts will love this.

Oh one more thing how do we get the paper work for all this? Threw the club or from UKC?

I know it will never happen but it would be beneficial for everyone if a dog were required to have an HTX title before being entered in a UKC nite hunt...

I think that would drop the entries too much and put out a lot of clubs. My personal belief is that an inferior dog doesn't hunt as much as it helps a hunt. They bring money for the club and don't hurt a good dog. I agree it isn't the perfect situation. It would be great if they were all good dogs but I think people would be surprised how many titled dogs would fail a HTX test.
We don't have that many in our club now.

To answer your question;

After a dog has aquired a HTX title, meaning the dog had a minimum of three passes under three separate judges, any of those same previous judges may once again inspect the dog for a second HTX title.
