I'm sure the Amish family will appreciate it. There have been a couple of blogs on some of the different news releases that were not favorable. Once again, ignorance has risen it's ugly head. One remark was to the fact that they couldn't understand how anyone could let their kid run around at night with a loaded gun. Another from a hunter didn't understand what someone was doing out at night hunting. Fortunately, a coonhunter got on the blog and described coonhunting. With a little luck, the media will get hold of what the Mercer County Club is doing and put light to what happened and how the coonhunting community is banding together in a time of need.

It's too easy to happen. We shoot one shot and hit the coon and it don't fall. We load another shell and before we shoot the coon falls out dead. Then we forget the shell in the chamber in with all the excitement of the coon falling and the dogs all charged up. Please, Please, Please.......take the time to always PHYSICALLY check the chamber. Open the action, look, and stick your finger in the chamber and check.

if you decide to do a money thing, Here is some ideas:
add more classes like pairs (female, male and mixed), dual champions male and female./ treeing contest and whatever you might think too...
You don't need to have trophies or anything for prizes... Have the money go to the family. if you have classes like that I will sure bring three or more dogs.
