-- What would you do? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=328338)

You either plus it as according to the rules and prepare to have a poor cast.
Questioning would do you no good, but I would make my best effort to return to the club whether that means questioning it or whatever and get a nonhunting judge. Of course, since there is no scratching offense, they could refuse to return to the club.
If you can't get a nonhunting judge, I'd simply withdraw and go coonhunting. Let the 2 crooks fight it out amongst themselves.

must be why i hear so many people talking about getting beat because the judge kept minusing them on the strike. its just one advantage the judge has.
how can a ukc hunt be considered fair competition when one of the competitors has an advantage by being judge?

There is no advantage in being the judge. In fact, it can be a dis-advantage, and usually is. you not only have to listen for your hound, but learn and listen for the others, determine who struck in where, who treed where, all the while trying to call your hound too. There's no advantage. if it was, you would have four handlers in every four dog cast wanting to judge. Believe me, that is not happening.

Where will that get you the rest of the night?

Let crooks take advantage once you can bet they will do it again.

What you do is call them out on it! Tell them what they are doins is dis-honest. If that doesn't work tell them when you get back to the clubhouse you will make a big deal out of it and tell everyone what cheats they are. It's past time that grown men taka a stand. I refuse to allow people to walk all over me.

LOL.....They already know they are cheats, they don't need you or anyone else to tell them that. They don't care if the whole world thinks they are crooked, if they did they wouldn't cheat in the first place. Doing what you suggest makes you look like a toothless hound. If they are really cheaters, they will cheat on something you can beat them on with the MOH. I only fight the battles I can win. No way I'm gonna be the guy back at the clubhouse crying about getting boned over. There are enough of those without me joining in.

I agree to an extent. A few years back in another kc I got hosed. I told the man what I thought of him, and I told him the whole world would know by the next day. I didn't see that man for over 2 years in any kc. He used to attend every hunt within an hour of him and just like that he quit attending hunts.

I have a perfect example from this past weekend in a hunt I attented. 3 guys tried to talk each other into scoring a ghost coon, had I not spoke up I can guarantee you they would have plussed it. Once I spoke up one of the handlers finally broke down and said if it was there we would see it.

I have no problem taking a stand despite what people think of me. I'm not there to impress anyone and if you are then youre there for the wtrong reasons. Just allow the dis-honest hunters to continue doing and getting by with this nonsense and in the end you will have a bunch of low life coon hunters going at it.

It seems to me around here at these local hunts the concept is. This week it's youre turn, next week it's mine.
