WOW...cull a hound because it wont load?? Really? Nice. Mine that wont load is 100% coon dog and very likeable in every way. I have no problem grabbing a back leg and helping him up on the tail gate. Seems pretty easy to me...but that's just me.

I never seen Deamon load either but maybe he is just too old. Not too old to win a World Hunt tho.....

I always work gently with a young dog loading. I pick them up until they learn whats going on and always spend time petting them on the tailgate before putting them in the box. After they are wanting to go most start jumping up on their own. The ones decide that they are not going to load one night (usually after they have loaded several times by themselves) I make it launch up on the tailgate. After several times of my help they usually prefer to load on their own.

One of my keys is that I never praise a dog on the ground at the tailgate, only ON the tailgate.
