I tell you what, all the SEC fans on here need to step back just for a second.

Yes it is a fact that the SEC is the best conference in the nation year in and year out.

Yes Alabama is a good team.

They also have a FRESHMAN playing quarterback.

You can't tell what freshmen are going to do. Sure he had a great game against Florida, but against Tennessee (who has very, very low talent levels right now) they were average.

Texas is a decent team. If they played 10 times Bama likely wins 9 of them.

The will only play once, and anything can happen on that night, ESPECIALLY with a freshman quarterback (that's like expectin to win the World with a 6 month old pup LOL).

Colt McCoy is a Sr, and will likely win the Heistman.

This game could go either way.

I wouldn't crow too much beforehand. Otherwise you risk looking like the Fl fans on here last week.

Oh, and the SEC will struggle in bowl games this year. Every game except the NC game they will be playing up. Some conference Champ will play the SEC 3rd place team etc. That's tough.

Bama's quaterback, Greg McElroy is not a freshman he is a redshirt Junior. He has never lost a game as a starter going back to the 8th grade.
Look for Ingram to win the Heisman. Don't think McCoy is going to get it with a 3 interception game.

Yeah, Bama's QB Greg McElroy is a redshirt Jumior and has put up pretty good numbers. Take away a mid season slump and he would have OUTSTANDING numbers.

I don't think Texas has enough horsepower on offense or defense to hang.

Bama 35 Texas 10

THE HEISMAN IS A WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY KIND OF THING. IF IT WASNT THEN COLT MCCOY WOULD WIN, INGRAM HAD A GREAT GAME AGAINST FLORIDA BUT STRUGGLED AGAINST AUBURN, WHILE COLT MCCOY HAD 175 YARDS RUSHING AND 300+ YARDS PASSING AGAINST A&M

TCU is the best team in the country. To bad they don't get a chance to prove it. They beat Virginia, Clemson @ Clemson, BYU @ BYU (crushed them) then crushed 16th ranked Utah by over 30 points.

sec football

I think history has proven that whomever wins the sec championship game is the soon to be national champion. If tcu or cincinnatti were in the league they would be a four loss team.

The SEC is a tough league no doubt but I would bet 500 dollars that TCU would beat Alabama. TCU would blitz so hard Alabamas quarterback would be lost and TCU has the best run defense in the country and one of the best offenses to go with it. Again Alabama is lucky they get to face the weak Big 12 Champion.

See the problem is most of you have never even seen TCU play so how can you justify how good they are?

Last weekends games

I learned two things from last weekends games that is Bama has a outstanding O Line and that Huskers N. Suh is going to be a very wealthy young man come Spring.

How can TCU justify how good they are is the real question. They have'nt played anyone but clemson and thats not saying much.
These no-name teams would get more recognition if they actually played some decent teams each year.

Ray Ray Ray you call BYU and Utah nobody??? Remember BYU beat the projected Big 12 Champion Oaklahoma the first game of the year and TCU slaughtered them at their home field. There's youre measuring stick of just how good TCU is.

And a blind hog can find an acorn every now and then. Did BYU get there butts whoop by the awful Florida State Seminoles. I would'nt say Oklahoma is a very good measuring stick.

Right Oaklahoma had a terrible year but you have to remember they were without their star QB. HOWEVER they had him when they got beat by BYU. Oaklahomen is not good but if they would have had Bradford they would have killed Texas, you can take that to the bank.

Posted by da.wells on 12-08-2009 09:46 PM:

Oklahoma had Sam Bradford When they started the game,
no, They would not have killed Texas.

Yeah, I guess ole Vern Lundquist got me confused. He called him a freshman several times the other night when he really meant first year starter or whatever.

I still say that while the SEC is all that when it comes to football that Texas didn't just luck their way in, they consistantly have SEC level talent on their team and they could win.

Heck Tennessee was a kicker away from beating you this year and that's a huge rivalry game (they got their kicker from the student body after that because the one they had was kicking it into the line).

If Tennessee can outplay you for a game then Texas can cause they are much, much better with much better talent.

I think Bama would win 9 out of 10, but there is always that 1 and that's why they line up and play the game.

I don't know why they even play the game. It would save the SEC from paying the refs off if Texas would just fold early......
