was too nasty to go tonight.Doubt a coon would be walkin' tonight,it's so nasty.

thanks chris. sure was nicer last night.thermometer on bank clock said it was 28 when we pulled outta town last night.treed 1 pretty quick, then dogs got split on den trees.then called it a night.dan dogs, rueter hunting at all? just curious how sally has been.Travis

Ended up on a den tree also. took the pup a while to grub it out. It was his first night out on frozen frosted over ground.

12-6-09 hunt

Went out with Jay Lahey, and Joel and Jake Appel. Made a couple drops and had a couple coon seen. On my way home I made a drop a little before 1am, and it was a good corn field chase that ended up at a den tree that is right along field. If I had a dollar for every time I've treed there!!! LOL One of these days I'm gonna bring a buddy and have them stand at the well worn path that seems to be the escape route and cut that little bugger off... At the same time that coon sure does make for some good entertainment!!! Corn will be off shortly though.... It was snowing so it made for some nice pics....

nice pics. brandon, i went out last night. Bawlie treed a den tree on the first drop..then shot him down a long the bluff and he treed a big boar the same size as the night before..except this one had a tail!!!lol then i turned spud out in that holler were you were with me on the first drop the other night..he worked a ruff track and was heading for the menonites buildings so i cut him off with the truck and headed for home..

Tails are always nice!! lol I told Emily I'd be home in a little bit as I called her from Monroe, then my phone died. On my way thru Gratiot the snow started coming and it was just way too tempting for me to make just one drop. The quick drop turned into a long chase in the corn, and all 3 of my dogs got in on the chase it was nice to listen to. Even though it ended with a den, it was still a very fun drop. However, when I got home, it wasn't so fun.

I'd prolly best not do that again, she was ready to send a search party for me.

they run alittle last nite we treed 6 and back home by midnite.
for the weather being in the teens i very doudt that they will even move they have enough fat on them that they can layup for a month.

we are suppose to get 12" of snow tomorrow with wind, then a clipper moving in with highs in the low teens...just like a replay from last yr..will be touch and go from here on out..

One good thing about the snow coming is that the places by me that still have standing corn are prolly gonna have no other choice but to leave it. Fine by me....
