Same here its sucked and the dogs that im hunting have been really good before this but now its like what happened maybe its that summer slump we get every year just its lasting longer

I was talking to a farmer that was haveing to disk all his corn under becouse it had all became poison some how. It shuts the liver down. He said it happens quite a bit. I am wondering how many coons and other wild life this kills before they can get in to disk it under. I know I am still hunting fields that haven't been cut yet and if it is poison they would not be able to disk it under either and it is raining now so it won't get done for a while yet.
I dumped in that corn field and didn't get sqat.

same way here in northcentral wv its been so dry here i have 2 young redbones they hunt real good but they might not have enough nose on this real dry ground with all these leaves hunted my old gyp saturday night she had a hard time but finally got treed

Posted by Brad_Hall_Ga on 11-17-2009 01:38 PM:

Stokes was it a little female named Sam? or a male named Captain? Sam is a littermate to the one im hunting. They are off of Barbwire and our Reba Girl female.

Posted by Stokes08 on 11-17-2009 02:47 PM:

it was sam she was a nice tree dog didnt say much on track though

Posted by Brad_Hall_Ga on 11-17-2009 05:58 PM:

Yea she is going to be a nice female. Im hunting a male that looks just like Bob and hes going to be about a 75 pound dog. He opens a lot by himself but if dogs are with him he may open here and there and hes going to get by himself about 75% of the time. i went to chickasaw last night and hunted him and bob and made 2 drops and they both went there own way and split both times. Couldnt find either one it was either a den or a hard to shine oak. Need a good frost to take care of all these leaves.

Posted by Stokes08 on 11-17-2009 11:05 PM:

thats what we need brad is some rain and a good frost

COONS

FRIEND OF MINE HAS TRAIL CAMERA PICS OF COONS ON HIS DEER FEEDERS AT 2:00 AM CONSISTANTLY . ITS BEEN VERY WARM FOR THIS THIS TIME OF YEAR , WENT THE OTHER NIGHT HAD TO USE MY ORANGE POP COVER TO WALK WITH TO KEEP BUGS OUT OF MY FACE ! WEATHER IS MESSED UP

Posted by chris baker on 11-18-2009 11:59 PM:

We went last tues. and treed five. Had a great hunt. Went last night and my female treed two. One was a lay up and the other she only made like three barks on. It was raining and nasty. Didn't even see any deer moving. I'm really happy with what she is doing for 13 months old. Seems like some nights they are everywhere and some there not.

Friday night 2 drops, 4 trees (one three way split). All dogs on first tree with coon. Second drop three way split hat 2 coons and a legit cedar that one of the pups treed on (none of them were close together, all different tracks with one treed close, one out of hearing and one between the two LOL).

Last night two drops, two trees, coon in each tree.

For some reason they are around fields now, not corn etc but grassy fields. I was wonderin what was wrong with my dog for "coming back in" so quick when she just fell treed within sight of the field.

Then on the way home I saw another one rooting around in a field.

Wierd.
