I thought the world was suppose to be one of the biggest hunts. Now it is either the Nationals or the McVay Memorial hunts. Whats wrong with this?

NO ZONES!! This killed the numbers at WQE's. Before the zones we were the largest qualifier 2 years in a row with over 100 entries. One year we were close to 140. The first year of the zones we had around 60 and the 2nd year was lucky to have 40 entries. I predicted it will take 3 years to recover from the zones.
Could care less where it is held but if I qualify I want to go compete against all who qualified not just my club members.
Like Thornie said its the World Championship, why do we want to narrow the field before the Championship weekend? There are clubs in WV, IN, OH that can handle it. I also believe there are some in MO, VA and MI that could with help from other clubs. We will find out next year at NHBA days what MO has to offer. We all may be surprised what size hunt they are capable of holding and the number of entries gained localy.

Didnt say it would please, everyone, just bringing up a suggestion for the guys that think it should be held in a different state year after year. Do you really think that the zones scared off people from attending, like to know where you got those statistics from. or was it maybe the economy?, either way it should be held somewhere reasonable for travel, good rabbits, and good grounds for holding the event. I do hope it travels though.

I heard Kansas has the most rabbit in the country. lol

P.S I told UKC, the zones were a bad idea, UKC was just trying to make more money and it backfired.

The eliminator has more entered than the world hunt and its in the same place every year.

I was secretary of our club and those numbers were from our Qualifiers. How do I know we were the biggest those 2 years? Because back then the club with the largest qualifier was garanteed a last chance qualifiers.
2005 My hound won the World with over 200 entries (last year before zones). Hasnt been that big since.
Will it rebound? YES I think so just give it time. I for one qualified less dogs for zones than I did without zones.
