And the trapper's that are doin it by the law with proper permission will be b!tchin 'bout the coonhunter's that can't teach their dog's how to read or even care as long as they got a place to park!

By attackin one group your attackin all of us that enjoy mother nature's bounty. I've trapped all my life I beg to differ in this statement. Kinda like huntin feeder bucket's or live trappin coon to turn loose for your aging pup's............................................................"NO SPORT IN IT"!

Called the local buyer, and he said 1 to 3 is what he is paying. Good enough for me ,so that I dont have to leave them laying in the woods. I have done this my whole life and tradition is what will keep me doing it the rest of it to .

Take it for what it's worth. I deal with Groenewold. I took this from their site.

Spring wild fur auctions saw limited interest with 20 year lows on many items. However, the lower dollar and higher oil prices have brought Russia back into the picture. Interest from Turkey, Russia and Greece has increased. Continued demand will be needed to push prices. Our reps in China and Russia have begun to feel a bit more positive.

h Raccoon: Better sections are moving. Off sections will need China to take up quantity.

h Muskrat: Higher prices will be needed to produce enough muskrats for next year, however the Chinese are very reluctant to push the price.

h Beaver: Bigger sizes are higher than last year. Smaller sizes are still lagging.

h Wild Mink: Higher ranch mink prices should support this item at current prices.

Coyote: Colors at cheaper prices are not moving. Late season may see interest.

i Grey Fox Demand continues to be limited and styles are overlooking this item.

h Red Fox: Cheapness has started to generate interest in this item

i Skunk No longer a fashion item and must be sold as a novelty.

g Fisher: Stable demand has kept this item fairly well priced relative to other goods.

g Otter Tibetan religious use is still not existant but conventional garment makers are starting to take notice.

From what I am hearing it is completely speculation this year, and most buyers are waiting to see what happens before they commit too much of their own resources.

Alas, it doesn't matter to me, the boys and i will still put up fur this year. Last year we tanned more pieces than in the past.

I never mentioned leaving them lay. Simply stated there is no PROFIT in it. I'm going to skin and sell what I shoot. A penny saved is a penny earned, and that's pretty close to what they're worth.

THEIR IS NO PROFIT IN KILLING COON GAS DOGFEED BULLETS WARE AND TARE ON YOUR TRUCK. I HUNT CAUSE I LIKE IT.

THEIR IS NO DIFFERNT THEN SHOOTING THEM IN THE SUMMER AND LEAVEING THEM LAY THAN THE WINTER

This fall will be a better time than ever to put the finishing touches on that young dog or better yet introducing a new person to the sport. We shouldn 't feel any pressure to chase that almighty dollar . I guess that is why I feel that it would be a good year to teach my boys to put up fur . Two Toes get ahold of me some time I'd like to chat . Remember 20 some years ago when a young kid went and got Toad in waste deep snow after a hunt in Minnesota that was me .
