Cotton

Cotton (Rat x cheif female) won first place at black and tan sectional last night with a score of 850 plus, i want to thank my guide and i am keeping his name a close guarded secret for putting me in coon like i have never seen before.cotton is now carrying a first and a second.one more cast win and that will give Rat 4 nts and one with a first and another with a second. He will secure his place at the upper end of the top reproducers when it is all said and done.
Rance sure wish you could have made it,O and i had a wonderful time, think we ruined him on all the deer and coon he seen this weekend though.I really appreciate you guys going to all the effort that you did to get molly up here.I am looking forward to seeing your LITTLE brother again,he is very good people!

cotton finishes to nt ch. show ch last night. This gives Rat 4 nts and 2 more with first and one with a second out of little more than a 100.Rat is reproducing with about every female bred, not just one supercross. His reproduction percentage will not raise for awhile as we have 6 good females bred to him at this time.

Tony

Congrads on finishing Cotton. Sounds like you had a great weekend. I gave up on the hunts as of late. Spending to much time in the trees myself waiting for that monster buck that seems to never show up.

I have two males off Rat and a double jet five female and they are naurals, fast ,hard hunting dogs with a want too!!! where i come from that means COONDAWGS

Posted by Blue Style on 03-07-2005 01:52 AM:

Cotton.....

was the most natural startin, intense pup I have ever owned or seen. Split and held pressure on his first coon at 4.5 months. Had been out twice. I owned another out of Rat and Joey, who turned into a super nice female owned now by Louis Millikan.

Congrats to Todd Droege

Todd got his first on sky last night, she is sitting on a first and a second now at the ripe old age of 12 mos and 9 days no record but not bad since she has only been campaigned 3 weeks.hopefully tonight we gett r done!.
RATTLER IS REPRODUCING WINNERS !!!!!

I just want to add that every time I went to the woods in a hunt with Tony and Rattler or Tony and something out of Rattler they were top notch coon hounds. I only wish I had a Plott hound reproducing like Rattler is. Keep up the good work Tony!

Tony

Has the weather got you stuck inside too. I'm about to pull my hair out.

I cant beleive those guys with those good blue females are'nt lined up in your drive way. After the whoopin you put on me the last time I drew ya I was about to change breeds.

When this weather breaks give me a call we will go hunting. I have a pup I would like to show ya. I should have called her Ruby Too.

rattler

Hi Tony will that make 2 pups from the Belle Junior X Rattle cross that are Nt CH?

Posted by tony foley on 03-23-2009 03:33 PM:

Where Are They Now ??

I was going through some old threads and found this one. I see so many advertisements and promotions of "studs" on different coonhound sites. This thread was started 5 years ago when Rat was just starting to catch some females. I knew then before the numbers could reflect it that he was something exceptional not only in the woods but in the stud pen. Not only is he a fourth generation top reproducer but he is climbing his way up to the top. He is currently #4 on the list and his pups are picking up wins just about every weekend. He had 2 pick up nt ch wins this weekend and one pick up a first at the American Heritage last weekend. We are seeing grandpups be the same type of naturals also.
He could not have achieved any of this without a great support group and a huge thank you goes out to the folks that carried their females to him and that are hunting the pups.

Rat is not the only true reproducer that was overlooked. It is hard not to grin thinking about the folks that drove past my house to breed their female to the next great thing.

Last year at bluetick days there was 8 dogs that went back to my breedings that placed. I look forward to a few this year as well.

I justed wanted to express how gratefull I am for having the opportunity to have some success in our breed and again thanks to all the folks that help make it happen!

man, how time flys. hard to believe its going on 5 years since this thread originated. all i can say is that im sure glad i went with rattler. ended up with some good dogs and a better friend.
Tony you sure had alot of foresight early in his reproducing career when it came to what rat was going to throw. You made some bold statements and yall backed it up. i dont think the either of ya get the credit deserved.

i know there is still alot of wins ahead for us from dogs on our place directly out of rat.

I KNOW MY KENNEL IS BETTER TODAY, FOR THE WORK TONY HAS DONE OVER THE YEARS. TONY DOES NOT JUST CARE ABOUT THE DOGS, HE CARES ABOUT THE PEOPLE HUNTING THEM AS WELL. THIS SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME.
