I also come from a working man's family and am myself a working man! I work construction on a foundation crew, building basements for new houses. That said, I don't know why "working class" people seem to always lean toward the dems. Have they actually done much for you personally? Usually they make it harder for your employer to keep you employed (you know the whole steal from the rich, give to the poor attitude), then the employer goes out of business and then the working man is out of a job. Hmmm...sure glad they're looking out for the working man!

i voted for mccain/palin and proud of it. if he had been elected there would be things to criticize. but not on this scale. i voted to reelect carter. i'm ashamed of that decision. at the time i was interested only in my job and personal life. my dad told me that they were all the same so we might as well keep one and have fewer goin on retirement every 8 years. my family still makes fun of me for voting for the peanut. what a whimp. obama is a whimp too to whomever confronts him.

No I don't. That's right, I'm a scab, rat, or any of the other names you want to call me. In my opinion, the unions have gone too far in trying to take care of workers to the point of, in the long run, they have hurt the worker. They have made us greedy and lazy people and that's why our jobs have been outsourced to other countries where people are glad to work hard for a fair wage. I could give example after example of how the unions have gone too far to the point of being ridiculous in the company vs worker mentality, but I'll not take up the space here.
Don't get me wrong, I think that in the past unions have been great for the working man, and were badly needed, but in the last 30-40 years they have gone too far and the American worker has suffered for it. Just my opinion, glad I live in a country where I can state it.
But none of this discussion changes the fact that you should get out and vote and thus try to change the country for the better, whatever that means to you.
did not vote Obamba, call it open minded or what i have always beleived he was out to destroy USA and still beleive it. we are gone to have to keep in touch with our Senaters and tell them what we think to keep us out of deep trouble. he already wants the government in control us under almost commonest control. in my heart i think he is the anti-christ and that is stating it strong. he wants to destroy the USA. his cash for clunkers was the only thing that has come close to helping the USA. he could have taken the trillions of dollars and given to the poor that make under $100,000 per year and gave every one except the rich a large amount of money that would have reached to the top and we would be strong every where bankers and car dealerships but no he started from the top down. that will not work you have to build from the ground up. we could have all had thousands of dollars to spend and get where we wanted to be. i think he is an idiot sorry

I think it is great for people to get out and vote thats the freedom we have if you voted for Mcain thats great that is your right hey i voted for bush the first time but not the second in my opinion the corporations of this country had him in there back pocket heck he ran this country like a ceo of a corporation i voted for Obama and would do it again today sure there is things that i dont agree with him on but bush caused me to not vote for a republican and prob will not vote for one for a long time i agree with the rep on a lot of issues but the issues i agree on nothing is ever done about them and can say the same for the dems thats why i am now a reg independant and say Lou Dobbs for prez in 2012 look i work for one of the largest corporations in the world and we are union free as they say and they could careless about there employees thats a fact i have worked there for 11yrs and make $2 less an hour now then i made a year after i started there
No matter with who you vote or how you vote, But vote for your views and beleifs. I would vote for the old fashioned democrat in a heartbeat but show me one that has the $$$ to run for President. I vote for what I beleive in and even though none of them truly represent me, the common man working man, I try to get it as close as possible. Come election time it amazes me at how many politicians campaign and tell everyone what they want to hear. But in the comming elections look at what the candidate that wants your vote has voted on in the past. We need help in this great country and we need it quick. I pray that americans take each and every vote they cast seriously. Wether they are Dem or Rep vote for the person and their views not what party they represent. My 2 cents
I hope those that voted for blind@$$ change last time will continue to do so and those that didn't will vote for change this time!

And oh by the way for you braniacs who the best comeback you can come up with is to tell me to go blow it out my a$$, why don't you quit being a lazy moron and do whatever you can to try to make this country a better place, whether that is voting for the lesser of two evils or whatever.

I guarantee many many people on this message board voted for Obama!!!! GUARANTEE it ! Where they all hiding at??? I my-self would be so embarrased to admit it after looking at what his amazing plans are for the future. In my personel belief Obama is just the set up man for the anti-christ. He will have this country in such a mess in a matter of 4 years and then the world will see Mr. Perfect a man that everyone likes a man that everyone will vote for and he will come and fix everything and then my friends this world will be over. Call it however you want it but me im just going to continue to work and chase my hounds around until that day happens.

quote:yes...thats what i am saying Mr. Fuller. I come from a very strong military back ground, and everyone should consider it a duty to vote.....for yourself, or someone else. A real american will die to keep his/her right, and protect it by voting. I don't want a pis**ng contest over this, but you should think before you just say i'm not voting. There is strength in numbers....as the world can well see now, and its not always the popular choice who has the strength. Yes..it is very sad, but if all that would have voted for McCain, would have went and voted, the election results would have been different.
