was a fine representative of his lineage.. The splitnose trait was something that Kelly Bragg maintained through his WV Blue line..All of his WV Bue I - VI stud dogs had it. Not sure about # VII he was sold into Alabama when Kelly died.. He probably was splitnosed too. I have never seen it in any other hounds of any breeds ???

I had a redbone pup born with a nose like that but I had him put down because the vet said it was a cleft palate (even though it didn't go all the way into his palate). Did I make a mistake?

Now that's a good looking blue. It's a shame alot of our dogs are hound in name but not in looks. To me hound means ears, square muzzle with flews and tan trim over the eyes and on the muzzle. Not snipe nosed and cur eared.
