During the Winter I shoot out the Coons and sell the Meat,
She is extreemly accurate, and that has increased with age.
Out of her last twenty trees I have found 18 Coons.
And the two trees were big trees.
She is the Hound on the Left

No real problems with this hound, except that she dosent have a very loud mouth, dosnt cary well over distance, she is tight on track, but a good solid stay put accurate tree dog. My personal best ever Coondog. I love her. Thanks for asking.

I would say 90 to 95% accurate like our hound.

Vacooner,
I forgot to answer your question.
The hound in my picture, is my personal best ever Coondog.
She is accurate, and a very good hound, but she is not perfect,
She dosent have a very loud mouth, and it dosnt carry very far.
She is very tight mouthed on track however, and is a layup specialist.
Often times she wont open on track at all and will just locate and tree and have the Coon.
Thanks for asking, and good luck luck with your hound, he is a beautifull Black and Tan.

I know some Black and Tan folks, and I would say the Smoking Jet line, from Bill Shenker is probably one of the best out there.
Im not a Black and Tan Man anymore, but these are good hounds.

That a FUN thread...

...Ironically Bob and I had the longear at the vet today with his FIRST ear infection... We think it began from his "mommy" the MALE bluetick...cleaning his ears...constantly and keeping them moist...LOL... The Biggest.downfall to drop earred dawgs...
MIKE...Bob's thumb is GOOD! Not 100%...never can be but good...NOW if we can fix his "good SHoulder" LOL... He just had that one injected...to hold off surgery.... OLD age setting in....

Steve, Thanks..we do love our dawgs.... and we do have a thing for ears.... Bob LOVED the pic. of your 3 males BTW.. I realize I never replied on there...LOL... DUH....
Jondle.. THAT pup has EARS!

Richard, Thanks! I sure do miss that greyhound... he was the #1 thing that helped me after my head injury... He MADE meget out and do stuff and visit nursing homes with his old "brother"... they were GOOD dawgs and TopGun truly believed he could hunt and be a coondawg...LOL... He has been gone well over a yr now and I miss him daily. The female with Bob is also gone... she was a foster who ended up staying since she was terminally ill... SHE was WONDERFUL and made me think that someday I WILL own a BnT to hunt. She was oler than Moses and blind as a bat and ALL hunt even on her last day. The vets LOVED her and saw her at least weekly... The Little BnT Wyatt is trying to help grow ears was the dog that started us in coonhounds again. She was put to sleep after attacking our son... she had "rage syndrome"... She was Bob's baby... We still have my bluedawg and the long ear...
someday we'll own one we can hunt... till then we'll enjoy the pets, keep up with our friends on here and get our fix in PIX and hunts with friends!
vacooner... can't wait to see pix of your new dawgs!
MORE PIX! HEather

Thanks Richard . He was very smart , just not smart enough to not chase a rabbit in front of a car on a road that only has 3 cars go down it a day.

LMBO! Bob says..."THat's Good!"... he is about to come inside (the dawg that is) for his meds and bed.... The vet tech was SO shocked when she realized I wasn't kidding when I said I could reach MANY inches inside his HOLLOW head.... It takes a FEW cotton balls to clean each ear! The dog was doing better the FIRST day of meds...he is getting progessively worse...BUT only cause he HEARS the cotton ball bag and RUNS to hide....LOL...
Here he is... really look forward to tonights meds...LOL...

HappyForth! Heather and Bob
