Good luck to all who enter a dog in any event there.

That being said, I am torn on the issues that the others are talking about. While I have not stepped up to offer my physical support, I have offered my financial support for the lat two years and will continue to do so.

My only complaint is this. We try so hard to team up with these other hunters groups, but when rub,ber meets the road, do they support our rights as hunters? Some of the reason we have this ridiculous quiet season crap is because of the Turkey and Deer hunters... Where is our help when it comes to having our dogs put up for 3 months. I am not a competition hunter, haven't done it seriously since I was in High School, but loved it and still enjoy it occasionally.

Unfortunately, for me and thousands of other pleasure hunters in Michigan, we are left to either set up a parcel of land with the DNR, which I attempted last year and by the time I got the paperwork back, ( I drew the parcel picture back and they sent it back lol) quiet season was over, or break the law to run my dog. Option 2 is not really an option. I have a Federal job and would like to keep it, a ticket would result in a loss of said job, besides the fact that it is wrong for me to break the law, it is tempting. Do something about our quiet seaon please!

That is my only complaint. Jeff, Larry, and Company thanks for all you do.

Again, good luck in the hunt show and the other events, I know you guys all work your dogs real hard to get to that level of competition.

Jeff congrats on yer win in Lakeview with Razor.

Tracy,

Quiet time goes back to the notion that animal young need to be protected during their early stages of life. Yes, it is an incorrect notion, and has in fact been proven false.

This historically has nothing to do with turkey or deer hunters in the state of Michigan.

Larry when it comes time to abolish the quiet season, you'll see those hunters get involved...against us.

Purina committee set the quota at an average of 70 dogs per night to qualify for a Purina hunt. Don't have to be 70 each night but would have to be a total of 140 dogs hunted over a two night hunt. If you're under for two years in a row then you're out. Michigan was under for the last two years. Believe we were close a few years before that.
I don't think the other entries for Bench show, field trail and water race count for this but maybe they should since dogs entered in these events all eat dog food also and Purina is basically supporting an event for potential dog food costumers.

state hunt

I'll be there both nights. Is this still set up as a double cast win beats a single high score?

Well I don't blame ya none. There will surley be more performance points here than at most club hunts. But how many dogs can you think of that have won both the UKC State Hunt and the PKC State Hunt??? -Angie
