It may be a

It appears-but I may be wrong that a tongue is hanging between that weed growing up and his eye. Now this may be too far back to be a tongue. The gland on his back leg looks like a sore to me like he got caught in a steel trap and released...hence the reason he is hauling butt or the lion is chasing him. I still think he is a young cur dog or yeller dog pup....but I don't know lions and he is too thick to be a house cat by my eye. It's a dog...I have seen dogs with butts like that but I won't argue....we need a better photo to be able to access the situation.

Save the picture to you computer. Then blow it up and magnify it. The way the eyes sit and the left ear looks uncommon to a dog. If someone that is good in photoshop could explode it and post would be much appreciated.

I think its a dog...There is no scar on the back leg, that is the front left paw. And as far as the Cuddeback goes......If it was running before it came across the camera, there is now way you would get more than one picture. Cuddyback doesnt have a camera that has burst shot mode.
