Well you all would definitley have your way. Its too bad, so many of you are willing to crap on the integrity of your chosen breed.

do you realize in most breeds cross breeding was used to better the breed why wouldn't it still work, ukc doesn't single register them untill the breed assoc aproves of the dog in question actuall a single registered dog has to prove it can actually tree a coon before there approved a bit more stringent that a pr hound which all can be registered

No Wayne Im an idiot, I didnt know that. You Guys are completley out of control. Might as well just quit registering dogs right now, if you get your way there wont be any need.
would like it so the Coyote hounds can
`be reg as they wont tree and some are cross breeds so why cant we get them reg as that in stead Just asking and I know I am AN IDIOT

Single-Registration
Here's a few English that weren't purebred :
(1) Boyd'd Little Joe
(2) Hardtime Speck
(3) Beshears Blue Boy II
(4) Daron's Blue Reb
Black & Tan :
(1) Lawson's Big Hoss
Redbone :
(1) Hunters Timber Chopper
Walker :
(1) Johnson's Banjo
What is a purebred anyway? Is it a line that consistently produces outstanding hounds that open, trail, locate, tree, and handle in a similar and consistent manner (with the meat at the end)? If so, where are these purebreds at? I've not run across them.
Surely, no one is foolish enough to believe that papers define breed purity. Ok, maybe some are that foolish!!!
most purebred animal registries consider 7/8 as pure.
look at the quarter horse registry as good as they are there books are still open to thorobreds and a good one is worth many thosands of dollars and i dont think the buyers are throwing there money away on mutts

I have a nice bred female who is a grandaughter of Backwater Pearl. She is only pkc registered because the guy she came from refused to register her in ukc, despite that her father was a gr. nite and her mother is a nt. ch. in ukc. I am having to go through all the rigaramole of getting her single registered so that I can legimately breed her to ukc dogs. Why should I not get her single registred? She is a fine hound .

Rich in your case, Im all for it. But Im not for crossing breeds and single reg. them.
cross breeding was used to start the different breeds but today I don't think it is neccasary to improve any of the breeds. If you look hard enough in the breed of your choice you will find the traits you are looking for to help improve what you feel your dog is lacking.
If you have two good dogs from different breeds and you breed them you should end up with some good cross breds(around here they are called mutts) that shouldn't be registered in my opinion.Just keep making the crosses and someday maybe you can have a breed named after you (I beleive this is what kemmer did).
If I have a registered walker and I bred it to a registered english and all her pups look like walkers. Now I take a female from the litter and get it single registered. I have her bred to another registered walker and she throws out two pups that look english. Can I single register them as english or walkers when both parents meet walker standards?
