Throwback is defined in the dictionary as "a reversion to a former type or ancestral characteristic"

Hunting/farming is so far removed from our modern societies way of life i feel like I am a throwback to my ancestor's way of life.

200 years too late.

Well I started out hunting redticks and since Mr. Dave already had the name Redtick I figured I'd just try this name...Red (ticks)...Man (which I am). It really means nothing now since I hunt BLUE dogs. LOL

Plus, before I met my wife, Redman backer got a LOT of my money....as did Marlboro, Bud, Michelob, Crown Royal....well you get the picture.

You know whats funny, back eight+ years ago before I quit ALL that stuff I had no extra money. Spent roughly $100-$150 per week on booze, smokes, and a chew. Now being clean of all those toxins and spirits for eight+ years now and with a wife and a kid and making more money than back then...I'M STILL BROKE ! !

I like to hunt a hound that looks like a hound, has a voice like a hound, trees like a hound and handles like a hound. The kind that produced for the "Old Timer's" years ago.

Well, I got my grandaddy's name, and I use it for everything else, so I do on here too.

Redtick

I hunt English and my user name says it all. As for political correctness, I always offer my opinion, politically correct or not. There is sometimes a price for being outspoken, a price that I pay often. But, everone knows how Redtick really feels about any topic he replys to!

Posted by Long Ears on 08-21-2003 07:34 PM:

Well of course

Not wanting any name that was gender specific, I tried to find one that could be anyone.
SOOO!!! My first coonhound, Darla, is an AKC resigtered Black and Tan. You all would consider her very old fashioned. She is about 70 lbs and about 26 inches tall. The best part is her ears. They reach from her head, past her nose and back around to her eye on the other side. Beautiful, silky, soft, LONG EARS. Thus Long Ears. Of course I try to find blues with long eas too. No short eared hound fo rme.
