i just lay them flat in the freezer, tuck the head under the belly and roll the hind end inside so theres no fat exposed to freezer burn..then thaw them out in a cool place before selling..but i do comb them out real good and get the burdocks out..

If I have a big enough bunch not only do I brush tehm but I run them in a tumbler with pine shavings. REALY shines them up and gets all the mud, blood and little things out of the hair.

I'll save about 10 hides to pay for my combo fish hunt and fur harvestors liscense. I give the rest away to guys I hunt with or kids that hunt.
I freze my hides flat and brush them out with a curry comb, The teeth are close enough that it really takes the burrs out. I didnt used to take that much care with my hides. Did it last year and I was astonished at the price difference
I was told my local buyer Chittick is only paying 3 to 6. I am going elsewhere. I heard the guy in Wabash, IN is paying well
Took the few we had in the freezer out, give'um a rite good cleanin up & averaged $16.16 on them. Buy a lil dog food & pay up on the performance gig for '09.
