you got the dna back awful quick (5 days). pup swabed, put in mail, ukc recieved, test done, results mailed back. it usually takes at least a couple of weeks.

Your right. It has always taken me at least a month. Maybe they just do it slow for me.

I know for a fact this female was bred to my old dog and was under lock and key for over 3 weeks while she was in heat with no other male dogs on my property.

I have a local vet that DNA's cattle who is going to check the DNA on them just to ease my mind. LOL!

With all due respect guys, read the last line.

THE LITTLE RASCAL DOES LOOK LIKE A MISS FIT. BUT I DON'T SEE IT ANY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER BREEDS HAVING ODD COLORS POP UP.......TAKE THE REDBONES OR BLACK & TANS THAT HAVE AN 'EXTREME' AMOUNT OF WHITE. OR REDBONES THAT THROW B&T PUPS. ALL THE BREEDS HERE LATELY HAVE BEEN HAVING THREADS ABOUT COLOR ISSUES.

DNA IS A VERY IMPORTANT TOOL FOR SUCH QUESTIONS AS THIS. IT'S JUST A WAY TO PROVE 'INTEGRITY' OF WHAT YOU HAVE DONE NOW FOR THE FUTURE. WHO KNOWS, THIS LITTLE GUY OR GIRL, COULD BE THE NEXT BIG DEAL. IT'S GONNA BE A GOOD THING WHEN YOU CAN SAY, 'YEP, THAT'S MY WALKER DOG' !

GOOD LUCK WITH EM

I had it done locally by a veterinarian that does all of the DNA verification for the local dairy farms around here.

I am also going to send some to UKC after Christmas.

colors can do a lot of changing over a few months time. I would for sure get it done by UKC to know for sure. I would bet my life it wasnt walker by just looking at it...but colors can change up a lot over the months so it might end up totally different looking than it is now.

If you are going to cull it I would donate it to a young hunter who will hunt it...might make a fine hound ya just never know....its certainly a unique one if its full walker.

odd color

Raised a litter once. I owned both dogs and had raised both dogs from my stock. 7 pups one pup crapped out mouse colored. Still built and made just like the other pups. Sold the rest and kept the cull. Was making a gooden when a car got him. I founnd out later that the line of dogs I was hunting had a lil bird dog in em. The father of the pups would have been 1/8 pointer. Might not have been a fox in this hen house but there has probably been a fox in the hen house sometime in the past.

I am still scratching my head.

linebreeding can bring some stuff out of the closet that others try to hide in the past/present.

dna will tell you if mommy and daddy were true,
but the family tree may have some different wood in the woodpile

but will ukc reg. them due to the off color??

I am not planning on registering them.

Oddly enough the female has tuned more tan with a black bar over her head and the B&T looking male has turned a lighter shade. They look nothing like they did when I posted their pics.

a friend had some pups like those one time from a litter with beaver lake majic in the family tree,

i raised 2 litters /different females X different majic males that throwed some rough coated shepard looking pups,,
didnt stop them from hunting,,
were too independent for me at that time...

good luck with them..
