Bring on the cold and snow !

I think it will warm up some where down the road a bit to get the coon dogs out again i like huntin late when all the big swamps are froze up ! But i sure am gettin ready for when all the deer huntin is over to get out the running dogs to chase the fox and yotes. We have a lot of fun doing that every weekend .And sneak in a little rabbit huntin and ice fishing wont hurt either .You guys from south of here would think we are nuts turning out the dogs on a yote track when its well below zero and the wind is blowin a bit. And us for hanging out in that kinda weather for hours trying to get a poke at mister yote when hes in a real big section circling. Coon hunting is my favorite thing in the world to do ,but chasing yotes and fox is a close second .SO BRING IT ON !

A good friend of mine is Grand Portage. They have some real winter up there. He heads up for family gatherings and hunting but lives near the Twin Cities. That's some nice country up there. Brings the snowmobiles or snow shoes if you want to see the backcountry in the winter. That snow gets deep by the lake. Good to get to know you a bit.

willy we dont have squat for snow yet. we get quite a bit of snow here. the south shore is great snowmobiling.

For those who dont know- Dan Dogs lives about 5 hours south of me. For the past probably 5 years DD's area [southern wisconsin] has had significantly colder and snowier winters than my area [Minneapolis Minnesota]. At my house there is only an inch of snow on the ground , it is 16 degrees, and we have no forecasts for subzero temps over the next 10 days [as of yesterdays 10 day forecast]. while DD has subzero forecasts and how much snow -5-8?

Enjoy it- you may have to move up here for better weather!

update- the same day that is predicted a high of -1 in southern wis has us at
+17!

Grobal Warming is a myth brought to you by the communists of the world. After communism failed in the eighties those people jumped on the global warming bandwagon to try an inact their
restrictive policies upon everyone. According to the UN council on global warming the earths temp. has dropped or remained steady since 1998. The main producer of co2 gases on earth are decaying vegetation not man. The same scientist groups that brought you global warming, said we were headed for another ice age in the 70's.

Hey Dave

If you do decide to go south, give me a call and I'll meet you at the Otter Creek station on Hwy. 61 and split expenses, just to get out of this cold stuff. I think we should have went to the Battle of Breeds hunt--- 45 degrees sounds real nice!! Take care, Ron.

i don't know, when i went down there 3 yrs ago it was -0...i asked the motel lady if there was a outside outlet to plug my diesel in..she said no, they don't normally have to plug there trucks in..i was getting nervous because it was -20 up here when we left and that mourning was the first time my diesel wouldn't start not being plugged in..we had a blizzard all the way to kansas city on the way down and freezing rain from kansas city to dubuque ia. on the way home..i sure don't want to get caught in that crap again..lol

-snickers-

On a sobering note....

We had two kids die on Thanksgiving from playing on the river ice here in town. Ice was barely 2 inches thick.

As far as ice fishing shacks go..I seen one on tv the other day that had bunk beds in it. Thats crazy. When I was a kid we'd sit on 5 gal buckets in the middle of the lake ice fishing.

go to minn ice shacks you wont believe what they have in them now.tv,satalite.full kitchen. there like an RV
