Season opened the 15th of Sept. here in MO. My brother-in-law connected on a real nice Pope&Young 11 pointer opening evening.
He shoots the new Hoyt Katera and switched from mussy broadheads to the 2-bladed Rage...what a hole those suckers make on impact. I am a believer!
I shoot a Hoyt RazorTech Cam and a 1/2 bow with a Copper John 7 pin sight, 2" vane Easton carbon arrows with a drop away rest. This little bow is a quite, fast (300fps) shooting little machine....love it! I am currently shooting 75 grain Muzzy's but will switch to the 100 grain Rage broadheads real soon. I have not been out at all, I still need to wash my clothes and get things ready. It is the ****dest thing when you get married, start a family and have to take care of a house! (Painting the whole outside of the house right now) Gotta finish befor I can play!

Yeah Bluehound I know what ya mean. I haven't been out yet either I'm waiting on a part for my Loggy Bayou Mega Transformer climber. I shoot the Mathews Outback, whisker biscuit, Cobra 4 pin, Gold tips with Blazer vanes and Thunderhead 75 grain broadheads. Can't wait to get out as long as Baker don't care if I hunt again this year. I seen a nice, nice buck on him last year.

Season opened here in MN on 9-13. I shoot an Diamond Edge, Cabela's carbon arrows, muzzy bad to the bone 4 blade head. Sad thing is.. Ive only had time to sit in my stand one afternoon. Got plenty of deer pics from my game cam. I know they are out there but just too darn busy this time of year! Good luck to all of you!! Hope you arrow a big one! Good Job Wade on that coyote!! Keep thinning them out.. Not worth anything this time of year.. but sure it nice to cut down on the numbers!

Matthew's Switch Back XT

Trophy Ridge single pin sights

ACC Super lite arrows with mini vanes (alumiun carbon composite)(Best arrow's ever made JMO)

Whisker Biscut rest

The BIG EYE PEEP SIGHT ( It took a little speed from my bow but gives me an extra ten minutes shooting time and the bow is still EXTREMLY FAST)

85 GRAIN THUNDER HEAD FIXED BLADE ( THERE THE CHEAP ONES YOU GET AT WAL-MART AND I LOVE THEM WONT SHOOT NOTHING ELSE)

This is the best, fastest, quietest and most accurate Bow set up ive ever owned and i love it...

I have been out a few times this year. I havent seen anything but I hope to this weekend.

My set up's got like this
Mathews Switchback XT
Beaman ICS 400's
Extreme Sights
Whisker Biskuit

my other is a
Elite Z28 Ninja(all black)
victory v1 arrows
Spott hogg sights
And a limb driver rest
The elite bow is fast she shoots 325fps at 70 pounds and 29 inch draw.
The mathews is slow at 275 at the same specs but she is smooth and accurate so its my hunting bow of choice.

my brother arrows his first deer with a bow tonight. A nine pointer at 20 yards didn't make it but about 20 yards also before he was done for. I am sure glad he has hunted hard just never could connect over the last couple years. I'll get pictures up tomorrow. Not a monster but none of that matters its definatly a trophy in his eyes.

Im shooting a '05 Martin Orion Magnum, whisker bisket rest, easton superlites with 125 gr muzzys. Great for hunting the Oklahoma brush bucks.

Does anybody else seem to havea problem with the whisker biskit peeling the fletchings off your arrows?

Also, for you guys shooting 2 blades broadheads, how do they fly? Seems like there would be some balance issues.

Posted by Travis P on 10-03-2008 05:03 PM:

If the whisker biskuit is peeling your fletchings off either your fletchings are not glued good or you have the wrong insert for your arrows. Their is two differnet inserts for the biskuit one is for small diameter arrows and the other is for bigger aluminum.

Two blade broadheads are good if they are expandables. If they are not expandables they are loud in flight and can be a pain to tune for. On most 3 and 4 blade broadheads you have to move your rest a 1/16" up and right for them to hit with your fieldpoints but with two blade fixed heads the rest has to be moved all over the place to hit with the field points.

Mathews drenilin 70 pnds, easton axis arrows, Muzzt 100 grain broadheads, Dream season camo, and the #1 improvement a Mathews drop away rest 100 times more accurate and forgiving that the whisker bis.
