Quick Hard Tree Dogs

If you all are willing to breed to a Bluetick Dog that is not titled in the hunts I can tell you where one is at.

EVERY LITTER, EVERY TIME, CROSSED WITH WHATEVER!!!!!!!!

Rocky Austin in Hartviille, MO has a nice dog that throws exactly what you are looking for in his Hank Dog. Rocky started this dog in the hunts and got sidetracked chasing girls and the ol' dog is just used to pleasure hunt at the moment. He might get back into the competition game eventually. I've personally owned two pups out of two differenty gyps and they make tree dogs from the time momma licks them dry.

Jet 6`s dam is out of Dark Blue Delta Dash, as I said and Dark Blue Sweet Thang. Dark Blue Sweet Thang was out of Wild Thang (Dark Blue). Wild Thang was out of Dark Blue Super Jab and Dark Blue Ruby. Jab was out of Bell Creek Blue Buck II and a Buck female. Ruby was out of Bell Creek Blue Buck and Fussell`s Sheba. Bell Creek BLue Buck was out of Hammer V and Sheba was a Tasuda`s Arkie female. I think this is right and here it is as promised.

Okay, I know how people like to jump on others for bragging, but I guess if its true its o.k....Here goes, Dual Gr. Ch. Littlejohn's Little Arkie throws "treedogs" if there is such a thing as too much tree then yes he may put to much tree in them. Of the ones I know of and have owned, they might tree to much when they first start treeing but about 90 days of hunting seems to get them on the right track. So just about anything you breed to Arkie you will get treedogs. I let a guy breed a pit-bull to Arkie to make a hog-dog, he is 18 months and cares nothing about a hog, cares nothing about fighting, all he wants to do is tree coons! He looks just like a Rottweiler,LOL!

IF YOU ARE WANTIN A FEMALE THAT IS BRED RIGHT AND SHOULD REPRODUCE TREEDOGS GALORE THEN CALL WARREN STURTZ AND SEE BOUT GETTIN A FEMALE OUT OF OLE ROCK AND SADIE CROSS.
NOW THERE IS A CROSS THAT MAKES COONDOGS THAT CAN TREE AND TREE QUICK...........JUST ANOTHER OPINION OF MINE.
STILL THINK HAWK IS IN THAT JILL DOGS PEDIGREE SOMEWHERE.. MAYBE IM MISTAKEN .....STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED LOL.......

have had at least a couple early starting

naturals out of most everything that has been bred to rock.this tells me that he is doing his part. although he has not been bred a lot,a couple of the females such as sadie mentioned above have had a large percentage this way. but of course there have been a few that where not. i would look for the stud that throws a good percentage of these type pups when bred to females that are very similar to the lineage and traits your bitch has. i feel building on the successful crosses is the way to go.. like to like gets like rings true. i will be breeding rock x sadie females of mine to jet6 in the future and will also be making a doubled up sampson cross on one of jim cartners grnites- ace or crank. that is the type pup i expect from those crosses.

for your response,I also think that like gets like. I guess this thread was somewhat of an take off of the thread about bettering the bluetick breed,just wanted some owners of these type of dogs to be able to list their males in this category- that is if they do indeed fit this bill.
What is the breeding on the diffrent females you have bred to Rock?
Kelly I understand what you mean about Arkie,my greatgrandson of Little Mack started out much like your talking about,alot of tree.
Jim Harris what is the breeding on Rocky Austin's male? And what has he been bred to?

Mr. Cahoy, you are right about Hawk being in her pedigree. She is out of Dark Blue Delta Dash which is out of Williams` TN. Hawk Jr. who is out of Uchtman`s So. Blue Hawk.
Dash`s dam was Dark Blue Colorado Daisey who was out of Harpeth River Blue Joe.
Mr Ellet had asked what she was out of on the bottom side is the reason I posted her dam`s ped.

Rob, Arkie was the easiest dog to train, he was coon crazy the first time he ever saw a coon at 5 months. I started taking him then, I guess I probab;y hunted him about a dozen times before he actually started, but the 1st thing he ever did was tree a coon behind 4 old dogs, he was 6 months old and just treed coons every since. Now Rock started after 3 hunts at 8 months old and was the slick treeingest thing you ever saw but he would stay even if it took you an hour to get to him. I bet that first week he made 30 or 35 trees and I looked at about 2 coons, about another week went by and he improved a little on his own, no less trees just a few more coon seen, by then I was getting worried and descided you couldnt hurt him if you switched him off a slick tree, so what I would do is I wouldnt even leash him up, I would go into the tree and if I could tell it was slick I would get a switch and just run him off, well he would just go right out and pick the track back up and tree the coon! After about a week of this treatment he got to where he didnt miss many at all. Then he got bad about going back to the trees ( him and Merchants Bounty) and just a couple times with the shock collar took care of that! By the time he was 11 months old he was like an old dog, never had to do anything to him again. He will still go through a spell when the coons start feeding on acorns every year and he will miss more than normal but about a week of hunting and he gets them figured out.

I didnt relize that 6 had so much Utchman breeding on the bottom. I knew what was behind Dash but didnt know that his dam was an granddaughter to Rebel.
Anyone have any idea on how well 6 is crossing on Utchman gyps?

ROB: I ONLY KNOW OF ONE UTCHMAN FEMALE BRED TO 6 AND THE RESULTS WHERE GOOD DONT KNOW WHAT THE FEMALE WAS ONLY THAT SHE WAS HAWK BRED.....AND WHY I NEW THERE WAS HAWK IN 6 IS THAT THEY SAID THE PUPS WERE DOUBLE HAWK BRED.......

From what I hear, if you're a little light in the tree department, Lonnie's Hornet dog is the way to go.

His daddy forevermore put the tree in his pups too.

The Hank dog is Uchtman bred top and bottom. It's been awhile since I looked at pups pedigrees so I'd hate to tell you exactly what he's bred like (not a very good memory), but I know the gyps he's been bred to are also strong Uchtman bred.

On a side note, 75% of the pups I've seen out of him were as ugly as they come, but it didn't take me long to overlook that when I heard them open and then get treed.

One of the two pups I talked about was about a 27 inch tall male, only black on him was his head and a spot on his rump, rest was just blue. He'd split tree and hold his own pressure till you went to him at 5 months of age. He wouldn't have the meat every time but just before he got killed on the highway he was really coming around.

The other pup is a female and I didn't get in on her till she was about two. A young kid owned her prior to that and any time she was gone over 5 minutes he got worried she'd ran off and call her back in, so she hunts pretty tight now, but the last time or two I took her out she was going alot better.

I've never been to the woods with the Hank dog, I've just heard through the grapevine that he's an exceptional tree dog. I think it was about 4 years ago that Rocky took him to the Winter Classic and placed him 7th (?), so if you can pick up an old copy of CB he's got a picture of him in there.

UGLY???

What ya mean I like them bluedogs with just a black head(& blaze) and no other body spots,matter of fact I got a male now just like that,couldnt be much happier with him.LOL
But I did buy his sire because I saw a pup he produced that had the most perfect "saddle" you have ever seen. And this sire was one of them black looking bluedogs "Vaughn type"
But I think I have progressed as I dont mind the looks "AS" much as long as the rest of the package is their. but they still got to look like a bluedog,LOL.
