bayer makes a product called bayer advantage it's the same insecticide as bayer tree and shrub in the same percentage just doesn't have the fertilizer in it that's what we use with good results . i'm not fond of putting fertilizer on dogs . remember all this stuff soaks in the dogs skin and exits trough the liver and kidneys . around the kennel i use permethrin spay mixed with MARTINS I.G. REGULATOR that doesn't let any flea or tick that touches it reach adult stage and bite and lay eggs . good luck out there .

Bayer Tree and Shrub

We have used Bayer Tree and Shrub on dogs when we have a flea problem and it knocks them dead fast, but it has Never helped against ticks. The only problem with the Bayer T & S is now a lot of stores are selling the new version Bayer Tree and Shrub + Feed. DO NOT USE on your dogs. It can and will cause loss of hair and other problems. They still make the version without the fertilizer and other companies are selling the same ingredients in their tree and shrub insect killer so you can still get it without fertilizer. It doesn't do anything to control the fly population either, but it works wonders on fleas

Bayer also makes their Bayer Complete Insect killer that has Imidacloprid in it as well as B~Cyfluthrin( active ingredient in Tempo) which is great for soil and turf to keep down ticks, ants, fleas, plus it controls grubs....but don't use it on your dogs as Tempo is NOT recommended.

As a side note Imidacloprid is highly deadly to bees which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are
