-- Score this - NH Scenario (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=203686)

Posted by Laura Bell on 04-10-2008 06:54 PM:

Rule 5. d No Points not even Circled Points will be awarded when dogs return to tree that had previously been scored, cast may go to tree without dogs being declared treed, if majority of cast agree, when hunting judge is used.

They have to be struck though. There for taking 1st and 2nd strike, leaving Dog C with 3rd.
So dog C gets 175+ on this track.

heres the best part of this one say dog c was struck while dogs a &b are on leash but not treed dog c still gets his strike points deleted if they all tree together.(Its all coming back to me now)LOL

Alright. Don't hammer me if you don't agree. lol!

Dogs A and B were declared struck but immediately thought to be treed on previously scored tree. Without declaring them treed cast went in and found them on previously scored tree as expected. Before they could be recast; C is declared struck and declared treed in the same breath.

First and second strike positions (in this scenario) cannot be opened until they are released. Yes, even in a deleted strike situation. (that was the hitch no doubt)

Dog C recieves 3rd strike position of 50. Coon seen. 175+.

Pretty good job Ms. Bell thinking this one through. I'm very impressed.

So Allen

what you are saying is Dogs A & B struck in for 100 and 75 go back to the same tree while dog C has not opened. These dogs right there should have a line drew through their strike pts as soon as you determine they are on the same tree correct. So why does that not re-open the strike they are the only two dogs that struck and their strike pts are to be deleted. Dog C has not been struck in at the time so the only thing I am see how you are scoring this the way you did is dogs A & B didn't get a chance to be recast so that is why Dog C recieves 50 strike pts. correct. Explain yourself MAN!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

This happen to me on a hunt in ohio i got 50 points.Strike doesn't reopen untill dogs are recasted i think.

Posted by Allen / UKC on 04-11-2008 03:23 PM:

Blue Ice,

Dog A and B's strike positions do not re-open until they are recast which is the case in all situations when you have dogs on leash.

On one hand I don't think they had any strike positions since they returned to a previous tree. Their strike was not circled, minused or plussed and imo shouldn't be the reason that Dog C ends up with 50 less strike points.

But I can accept scoring it this way, in the interest of consistency.

John,

Dogs were declared struck and assigned their respective strike positions. Tree was scored and found to be a previously scored tree therefore points are deleted. Doesn't really change the fact that A and B held first and second strike position does it?

The real brainstormer might be where dogs opened, were not declared struck, determined to be on previously scored tree and handled. All this transpiring before the minute was up.

Huh?

Bet the fish'll bite on that can o' worms.

Yeah Allen, what should I do with Dog C when he opens in that situation? Next available position would be 100 since A and B weren't struck but rule 2 (a) says specifically no dog can receive 100 unless all dogs are off leash? Please explain.
