Lots of caves and holes up there.
Very few coon too, but more now than there used to be.
You sure that wasn't Brymer mountain?
It's rough country. I have lost dogs for a week or two there before they was broke from goin in a hole.
Had to dig three out of an underground spring one night, barely could get a signal and found them. Had to dig straight down on top of them the back one had her collar hung on a root and had all of em trapped up inside the hole. She was a good 50 feet from the entrance, but was only about 4 feet deep so the signal went through the ground some and we knew where to dig.
Hope you get your dog back. He's a good lookin thing.

^^^^^^ i hope you find your dog!!!!
i know this might sound crazy, but get someone to fly over the area in a plane or helicopter with a tracking system... if you have to rent a guided tour over the area... we had this happen a few years ago... our dog fell into a cave and i walked 50yards within the dogs and never got a signal... my buddies grandfather had a plane at the time and went up and the tracker picked them up no problem... i hope this helps and you find your hounds... good luck
