These 2 were 19 and 15 pounds on certified meat scales at the local grocery store.



Stand a 50 pound dog food sack up next to , and in front of , that trap and then let people judge.

About four years ago, my brother and I got a coon that I swear was about 45 pounds. There were three of us and we gave up carrying it back to the truck about ten minutes into it. I still wish we would have just for gratification and pictures, but we didn't. They grow big up here and it is fun to see them up in those huge oak trees on a cool november night.

We caught a 35 pounder a couple years back in a foothold. First night he drug the trap off, second night he drug the trap off. Third night he couldn't pull the garage cable wire we used off of the tree and we got him.

Biggest coon I ever got was a real monster. I never weighed him officially but I'd guess around 80 lbs.


LOL...no, I'd guess he was 22 to 25 pounds. He was big old boar coon, had about a 3" long stub tail, all grey face. He was a brute and when I picked him up he felt aweful heavy! I think the bigger they are, the flatter they lay when ya sprawl them out for some reason. Also, they get a real wide, flat looking face.

Funny thing about my biggest one is that he was treed about 6 feet from my kennel! He came into the yard one night looking for food, and my little pup treed him from within his kennel. I went out and took advantage of a good training opportunity..and shot him out to the pup and his Mom. I actually tried to make a kill shot so he'd come out dead...but nope..he came out from 2 head shots full of fight and was actually working over my pup and his Mom, who was a good kill dog. I let go another male I had, also a good kill dog..and he proceeded to get his butt handed to him too. When all was said and done, I had to pull the pup out of there...he had a ripped open nose, male got tied back and he had a badly cut ear and cheek...and while Mom was finishing it I but 2 more shots into it's head. She had both ears laced open for her trouble. The coon was full of holes, had it's stomach opened by my female..and all dogs got cut up. That pup was eaxtra gritty from that evening on. If I remember right I got a whopping $1 and some change for that one hahaha.

I guess what I'm saying here..is that alot of 20 to 25 lb. coon become 35 and 40lb coon by the next morning hahaha. Also, I cant imagine what a true 40 pounder would actually do to a dog. Pound for pound, a big coon is alot tougher than the grittiest dog on earth. I would think a 50 pound coon...one that truley weighs 50 pounds...could quite possibly kill your dog in a one on one fight.

I'd still like to see photos of that 54 and 76 pound coon.

I mean no offense at all, and pictures are subjective...but that caged coon looks to be 18 to 20lbs. in my opinion. It's a nice looking animal, and will be a dandy this fall after he gets enough corn and acorns in him.

Hopefully you'll tree that sucker and get us a nice photo of him!

A big coon for around here is 12-15 pounds..

I saw one that went 70lb!!!!!!!!!! Big ol pet coon... He was alot bigger than my dogs.... I'd need a deer cart to get that rascal out of the woods...

treed 3 coon in one night that we weight

41,,42,,56,,,and 2 nights later we cought one and gave it away and it was a lot bigger than the 56 pounder,,wish we hade of weight it,,treed them in michigan way up north next to the canadian border,but here in ky 20 pounder is a big one,

If I had treed a 50+ lb. coon I'd for sure have pics on my PC and in my wallet! Lets see em.

Boys, everything in Texas is big except coon. That is one big coon standing in that trap. I would bet good money that he will go the 35 lbs.
