I am with you MJ, I cannot take this.

Chopper1954, I have a young female out of Buck Creek Mr. Smith and I can tell you she is anything but shy. It's the only Buck Creek dog in this area that I know of but there is no shyness in her.

1.Mean

2.Backtracking

3.Dumb

4.Lazy

Those traits will get one culled here real quick.

You better believe I would! One of my best hounds was a bawl mouth tree dog. Made night Cham. at 1 yr old. 2 first and 1 second. I had alot of compliments on his voice. You sure could hear him over some of the chop mouth dogs. He was Jet V bred.

If I had a choice I would rather hunt a chop mouth dog though.

Well,, I do not want to hunt a dog with no hunting desire!! He must hunt deep if need too consistantly!!

I can`t stand a dog that comes into a tree late or after I am there!! I will do my best to break them and if they still want to me-too late they have to go..

I will hunt a dog a little loose on track, or a average strike dog, but a semi-silent to silent dog is worthless to me.

I can tolerate an ocassional fast game race, but can`t stand possums or dillars!!

Hate them mean dogs.. Can tollerate a dog that will minor facebark, but would rather not have it.

He must have high percentage of coons. I would rather one trail two hours than make a bunch of circles.

I like a good looking Walker dog, but looks not a must!!(but must be a Walker)

I like a steady chop mouth tree dog, but if they have what I like they can bawl mouth on tree (not real picky about there tree mouth)

I like a loud dog with a big locate, but if they have all what I like in all other departments, I can tollerate an average mouth.

I got to have one with a good handle. I used to hunt dogs I couldn`t call out and that sometimes was a nightmare!!!

I like em independent!!

As I read this thread I can't help but wonder about all the people who don't list being ill at all. Think how much better it would be if no one would breed an ill dog. They are prefectly fine for pleasure hunters who hunt one dog alone and never go to hunts. How many young dogs have been ruined by and ill dog? I know I've had at least two.

Farting

They can fart in their dog box
They can fart at my wife
But if they fart in my truck
They are farting with their life.

PS. This is the number 1 reason I stopped hunting
Blueticks and Walkers. They kept stinking the place up.

Bill, Ill would be on the top of my list. Then a slick tree dog. All hounds will slick tree some but better not make a habit of it. Or treeing slick tails! They know the differance!

An ugly hound that will show me coon can eat my feed anyday! Now on the other hand an Ill or Mean dog won't last at my house. Cull it!

And blueticking: it yes I would feed a bawl mouth tree dog!

I cant tolerate a mean dog, a slow track dog (booticks), or a dog that will run an armadillo.

I want a go yonder, slobber mouth tree dog, that can drive a
track and slam a tree with a bawl on track and chop on tree. That aint mean.

Lot of it is in breeding. Bad thing to say but Im sure its true. Now on the other hand you can take alot of hounds that are very nice to be around and get them jumped on several times and they can turn aggressive. Not many hounds I suppose will just back off. My Annie female will.

Aggressive dogs are from aggressive sires or dams! Genetics!
