Laura, the Apache Blue Star English you show on the site, what is that dog out of? It favors the sire to my male and a couple of pups out of that same sire.

apache blue star

was an actual bloodline bred up years back. the female star, shown at about 7 years old at autumn oaks, 1988. bob adams, mich, had a good friend of his up mich. way as well, who had the bloodline...apache blue. dave bickett added star to his kennel by breeding her to gr ch, nite ch indian creek bruno...which is how he got his gr ch bruno II. dave didn't breed them much so this blood is all but goine. don and vicki hill, their gr ch dawn female goes to ol bruno and dave's highway brandy female. hope this helps...i got to thinking, this gentlemen's name might have been bob wilson and he lived near detroit?!

Gr Ch Apache Blue Star

thecolor sure is close?! WOW! this photo was at autumn oaks 1988 and shows, owner dave bickett, left. and a younger mike seets as handler. this trophy was for 3rd place champion. at one time..there were three trophies for the ch class at autumn oaks. all breeds and BOTH sexes showed together...so star had to be the third best over all ch's.

Nice site!

Laura,
Wow what a nice website. The historical information is wonderful!

Best of luck with your Nancy cross. She comes from a great lines of dual hounds. I can still remember hunting with her mom!

Laura

I like your site looks good. Don't forgot the sucess you had in 2001 at Autmn Oaks with Ch. River Bluff Blue Julie who won best champion bluetick female overall. I owe you all the credit on this one in the short amount of time you had to work with her to get her ready and then bringing home the win and also the English female you show also that year for somebody (I forget) who also won the English female champion overall. Not a bad day at all that day at Atumn Oaks. You sure have taught me alot over the years and have been a great friend to me and my family. Thanks Scott

LOL! stupid me..it is a sprained knee. and it HURTS! dpc says at least 4 weeks. anyway....i need photos of some of your past blues and plotts as well. i haven't started the other 3 coonhound breeds yet! LOL!

the english gyp was owned by lisa lund, daughter of alton and the late teresa key. alton came to me at the last minute...LOL! said "i could do it!" LOL! i will never forget how teresa responded to that win. she was so excited!! i have always been glad that the judge, doc birdsall, saw the quality of now gr ch, nite ch kuhl by day hot by night, still proudly owned by lisa.

and for tricia...wish you all the best. she is a nice female. and lucky you...wish i could of hunted wiuth some on nancy's pedigree. and must give alot of credit to monte and blister...another good combination.
