I hunted a female that Whitey Marshall owned. She was the very first Grand Night out of Rock. She also was the very first Dual Grand out of him. She was a COONDOG. If you turned her loose she would tree you a coon. She was the same dog night after night.

Lipper X Cafe'

I've got another female SS pup that is directly out of House's Lipper(semen) and a Grand Nite Female out of Cafe' that is well on her way to "Coon Dog" status. She is a go yonder hound and when she trees you see the coon. She has been a little to slow to come on the tree but thats the Lipper in her I'm sure. She's been improving every night that she is hunted. Her track mouth is less than desirable (sounds like a squeaky bed or something) but has a tremendous extreme tree mouth.

My wife and I made the trip to WV last winter to have my female bred to Hard Rock. Hard Rock was unable to breed her which really concerned Kenny. He rushed him to the vets that night and unfortunately Hard Rock died a few days later. We still feel sad for the Masons when we think about what happened. Mr. Kenny Mason and his wife are a class act. While we were there they treated us (strangers) as old friends and made us feel right at home. The coon hound world is good to participate in because of people like the Masons.

I also went out to Kenny's to breed a female about 5 years ago ,he did us like you Den Tree.
He is a good of a guy as any body could talk to.
Whitey Marshal has helped the Hard Rock Cafe blood as a breeder as mutch any body and healso is a good of a felow as you can talk to about the Rock dogs.or Coon Hunting in general.

hello hunters

ok i plan on talking to mr. mason soon as i get the hrc papers. i can't wait

but tell me do u hunters truly think that crossing hillbilly mac f/m which is 5 years old and never breed, also must state she is a coon dog. and please remember that she is the granddaugther of world champion hbm
with this hrc male which i think is 4 or 5 that likewise has never been breed would be a good cross?
we've only hunted him once and he is a very very very hard tree dog we will hunt him thursday night to c how he do on the track.
however some of the replies said that hrc hound r sometimes hot nose hounds?

also would this cross improve the breed or set it back?

and would this cross be a cross that you would buy a pup from if given the chance?

thanks
i look forward to all replies.

I remember seeing Kenny and Cafe the day after Autumn Oaks (hunted Friday night) they were staying at the same hotel. When he brought Cafe out he looked like WORLD WAR 3! Kenny was very nice enough to let me look at him and bet him up. He said that there was a real ROUGH dog in the cast and that they couldn't "catch" him in the act. I've hunted with littermate sons out of the Magic dog (L.Boreen) and Cafe and I just love the Big bold head on both of the dogs! They both didn't stand on their heads and very nice mouths with very overpowering locates! I would of love to have hunted with Kenny and Cafe for a week! Its to bad that Cafe is gone. Is Kenny hunting as much as he did when he was promoting Cafe?

The only way your going to know if this cross was worth it is to do it. I am a firm believer that, "you never know what your going to get". Once the pups are born and sold alot of it has to do with the training they get. Some of the best pups out there just weren't given a chance and never turn out. The blood is there, try it and see what happens.

I have female thats a grandaughter off Cafe by way of Blister and also a grandaughter of Harry shes almost 5 but when she started out she didn't open much till the tracks got warmed up.Now she strikes in fast and drives every track like shes running a deer to the timber hot or cold I haven't heard her trail a track in over 3 yrs. Very accurate also.Nice and loud as they come.

Kenny Mason = an excellent ambassador for our sport and a fine Man!

Hard Rock Cafe= His record speaks for itself,he was also one of the finest dogs i have hunted with. I saw him on a cold night in Pennsylvania as a pup a little over a year old and was very impressed how he got alone and was as TREE DOG.

We need more like both of them!
